Who knows how long I spent on my own, unmoving. Staying there until I could see meaning in something, to know if there was anything else out there.
I knew all of the basics. I understood words, I already had morals, feelings, everything was already there. Yet I found it impossible to make sense of it.
Though I felt all of these things, I had no memories of anything. No way to know where I was, why I was there, or even how I got there.
For an entire year, I thought that was my life. A meaningless life form simply floating around, with nowhere to go.
But deep down, I felt like I was waiting for something.
Memories trying to hard to escape being forgotten were scratching at the surface of my mind, but somehow it still didn't make sense.
I was living in confusion and sadness for what seemed like an eternity, that is, until he showed up.
Similarly to me, he had no memories, yet he had an understanding of life already within him. I thought of him as a brother, and for five years, we relied on each other.
That's when the others showed up.
Soon, a boy and a girl, dazed and confused, constantly clinging to each other, and never refusing to leave the other's side.
Then there was a woman, physically more mature than all of us yet emotionally she was the most childish.
Together, we all helped one another discover our abilities, learning how to both create and destroy. We created a planet, and as more of us started to appear, we made it larger and larger. They called this planet 'the Empyre'. It started with a small village, then multiple towns, which soon evolved into cities.
And the first five of us seemed to become the leaders.
We soon became a democracy, and by now more of us were appearing year after year. After multiple millennia, we, the Daemons, had established ourselves as the most powerful species in the universe.
But even that can get a bit boring, can't it?
