Chapter one - Frenemies?

~Natsuki's POV.~
I ran from my house, escaping another beating. I heard his smug shouts behind me; I shivered. What's the point? Go to school, have one hour of comfort then go home to shouts, insults, beatings, and forced...never mind. I don't want to talk about it. Anyway, whilst I was running, I bumped into Yuri! She looked so flustered and was running, like me.  We both fell and I fell on her, Yuri getting most of the pain.
"A-Ah, Natsuki!"
I immediately got off of her. She winced in pain as she got up.
"Ouch..."
"I am so sorry, Yuri!"
"It's fine."
"Are you okay?"
"Natsuki, I said I'm fine!"
Her voice was loud and with an edge of hostility.
"I-I'm sorry..."
"Natsuki, I said it's fine!"
Her face changed to a darker expression as she got up and continued to walk, her hair swinging behind her, as if she was leaving a trail of her.

~Yuri's POV~
I stormed off, indignantly. What was her problem? Why was she being so nice to me? She's so infuriating; yet...I feel as if there could be an improvement in our relationship. I stopped, and turned around to see she was looking gloomy. I was washed over with a wave of sympathy and slowly walked back to her.
"H-Hey...sorry for being mean. I didn't mean to be so rude, forgive me?"
"Hmph, maybe I don't want to!"
Of course, this is why I don't be friends with her: she's so annoying and immature, she has to get the last word.
"Fine, then."
I walked on, and felt myself trembling with anger. My wrist suddenly shot up with pain, making me fall to the floor. I suddenly heard footsteps and arms around me, helping me up. I heard a flustered voice:
"Y-Yuri! I forgive you, please...is there anyway I can make it better?"
I looked up at her pink eyes, they were shining so brightly, in concern. I looked at her and gazed into her eyes.
"There is...one way."
