(last night)
It was pouring rain out, and i was taking a nap from studying all night. It was 3am.

"ALEXIS?!" My mom yelled.
I instantly woke up.
"Yes, mom?" I asked, walking over to her room. "I WANT YOU GONE. GONE. PACK YOUR THINGS, AND LEAVE."
She said.
"I-I..."
"ALEXIS, ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME?"
"Yes mom." I said. I peeked over and looked at the empty alcohol bottles all over her floor and bed where she was laying. She had seemed to have banged her head with a bottle and cut her head open.
"SHUT UP. I WANT YOU OUT. NOW."
"Why-"
"DON'T YOU DARE QUESTION ME. GET THE HELL OUT OF-"

I ran out of her room and slammed the door. I grabbed my phone, took my stuffed giraffe, Ernie and went over to my closet. I grabbed some clothes and threw it into my jansport backpack as fast as I could, along with the $800 dollars I've been saving to get myself a laptop. I grabbed my wallet with my debit card and threw all of it except my giraffe into my bag.

I heard my mom throw one of her empty bottles at the window, and the window instantly collapsed and shattered into a million pieces. I heard her banging on the wall as I ran downstairs quickly, grabbing one pair of my black vans, running out of my house, with Ernie in my left hand and my shoes in my right. Though it was pouring rain, I didn't care. I needed to leave now. I started sobbing as I ran from a place I used to call home. I turned left. I stood just in my short light purple nightgown and matching fuzzy slippers when I saw him. "H-hello?" He stuttered. We held eye contact until I ran the other way. I grabbed my left sleeve to wipe my tears even though I was already completely wet from the rain, and I dropped Ernie in what became mud. "Shit!" I yelled. The boy ran over to me. He looked familiar. "Hey, are you okay?" He asked. I shook my head, sobbing, hoping he wouldn't be able to catch the difference of tears and rain. He frowned. He handed me his umbrella and he kneeled down to pick up Ernie. He was now dirty from the mud.
"Do you have a place to go tonight?" He asked. I shook my head. "I-um-" I paused to look up at him. His hazel eyes looked into mine for a few seconds, and I quickly looked away.
"It's okay." I mumbled. "I'll find some-"
"No. You're coming home with me." He insisted. "What's your name?" He asked. "Alexis." I whispered. He smiled. "That's a beautiful name. Matches you well." He blushed. He grabbed my hand and we ran in the mud to the nearest bus stop. We sat under the glass roof on the bench where it wasn't wet. I laughed. "Not a chance."
"Please. Stay at my house. At least for the night. Or as long as you want." He said. I nodded slowly. "Are you sure? What about your parents? I-"
"I live alone." He said, pointing to a bus pulling up at the stop. Since it was three in the morning, him and I were the only two on the bus.
"Scarsdale." The boy told the driver. The driver nodded and drove us there.
"Y-you live in Scarsdale?" I asked. He nodded. "Y-yeah." He frowned. Scarsdale is the richest street I know. All the houses were worth millions.
"So what are you doing walking in the rain at this time of the day?" I asked. He chuckled. "Helps me get my mind off of things." He said, looking at me. He smiled.
"Sorry, I forgot to tell you, I'm Grayson." He said. I nodded. "I feel like I know you-" I mumbled. "Oh my god. You're-"
Grayson Dolan. He and his twin brother had a YouTube channel I used to binge watch all the time! What was he doing in New York?
"Grayson Dolan. I know." He frowned.
"Y-you okay?" I asked. He nodded. "Am now." He smiled.
I put my head on his shoulder and fell asleep.
