"How many times do I have to tell you, Athena?"
Aiane huffed. "Kuya, I can take care of myself. Besides, it's not as if ibang tao si Enzo. He's basically a family!" giit niya.
Zeus closed his eyes for a brief moment, inhaled and exhaled before looking at his sister again. "Aiane, this is for your safety. For Enzo's. For everyone's safety, so please cooperate."
"Kuya, I already found a way to—"
"Anong kabaliwan na naman ang sasabihin mo, Aiane?" there was a different tone on her brother's voice that caught her tongue. "Stop whatever nonsense that is."
Zeus marched towards the door, paused and without turning to her direction, said, "Get some rest, Athena."
She could only sigh.
She stared out of her window, hoping for sleep to visit her but to no avail.
She shifted on her bed, facing the ceiling. And stared. She's practically begging her Kuya to let her out, hindi niya talaga mapilit.
Hangrove is messy at the moment. She could feel the war coming, and it's coming to them fast. Threats had been going on for years now, and she's sure as hell that this won't be just an easy war. The enemies have surely planned it well for them to cause such havoc. For the enemies to delay a war, that is questionable.
Senri and Adri anticipated this, but with the council coming in at each other's throats, her parents doesn't have high hopes. Kahit siya, nakikinita na niya ang pagkatalo. This time, everything might be at the enemy's side kung hindi pa magkakaron ng peace and order ang council.
At alam naman na nila, na isa pang rason sa war na paparating ay ang mga half-bloods. Sila.
And that's what she's been worried about for weeks now. After an attack on her three weeks ago, hindi na siya pinalabas ng bahay. Triple ang security para masigurado ang safety nila ni Blake, at ng buong pamilya nila.
And she badly needed to see Enzo.
At their chaotic situation, Enzo was her only tranquilizer. He calm her nerves down.
And their's a grave threat on her and Enzo, too, specifically. That's why her parents and Kuya had been hovering around her all this time. Minsan nakakairita na.
She tried the legal approach, but that didn't work. So she had herself a backup plan: the illegal approach. Kung hindi siya paaalisin dito kahit na magmakaawa siya, edi tatakas nalang siya.
Franco, her stupid friend, promised to help her up by driving her to Enzo's house. Sana lang hindi makalimutan nung gago niyang kaibigan ang usapan nila, malandi pa naman ang isang 'yun.

Few days later...
She buried her face in her pillows to muffle her scream of frustration.
Of course, she should've known that Franco would ditch her. Naabala pa niya ang iilang security na samahan siya papunta sa apartment ng lalaki, para lang malaman na wala ito at nasa kung saan. Well, the landlady was kind enough to give her his number.
Pero... ibang tao ang sumagot.
A guy.
A total stranger.
Franco's friend, perhaps?
O baka pinsan ni Franco? O kaya ay kapatid, di kaya Tito, o baka Tatay niya? Who knows.
