"Since when did you come to school Ashen?" Ryan asked, not even glancing up from what he was writing. Just as he was about to answer, the smell of perfume and makeup wafted into the room.
Ashen jumped out of his skin as a familiar shrill voice drilled through the room. "KENNETH!" she called. All heads turned to face the under-dressed girl smiling to herself at the front of the class. She seemed to love all the attention she was getting from her male classmates, and even more the envy from her female classmates.
Ashen recognized her from the incident at the park. He could already tell he didn't like her too much
She sauntered over to Kenneth's table, practically pushing some other girl out of her chair to sit beside him.
Despite all of this, Kenneth remained soundly asleep.
Slightly annoyed that her attempt to catch his attention had failed, she turned her attention to Ryan who was writing furiously behind him.
"What are you writing Ryan, dear?" She said in her most innocent voice. Ashen's head spun with alarm bells at the sound of her sweet but poisonous voice. Even he knew nothing good was going to come out of this conversation.
Ryan continued to write, ignoring the girl entirely. Now being ignored twice, the girl's face had frustration written all over. She snatched the notebook Ryan wrote in and gleamed as her eyes swept in its contents.
"I haven't gotten back at you for getting in my way along with that cute kid the other day." She said haughtily.
A small smile crept onto Ryan's face as she furrowed her brow and squinted.
"Can't read Japanese princess?" Ryan asked, equally as innocently. A few snickers went around the room as the girl realized the trap she had been placed in.
Unable to lose to the likes of some Asian loser, she regained her composure and said, "My dear, you should really practice writing some English you poor rice farmer." She brought her hands to the top of the notebook, an evil smirk across her face, a small rip started to form. "Why don't I help you," she said giggling to herself. Ryan looked on without a sign of fear or concern written on his face.
Ashen sat there in silent observation, genuinely worried about what was going on. Would Ryan retaliate as Wilfred did? Who the hell was this pompous girl? What's her deal with Kenneth? Ashen felt the sweat roll off his face as he watched the girl proceed to rip Ryan's notebook into shreds.
Of course, that didn't happen. A hand reached up grabbed her arms, forcing her to drop the notebook which Ryan caught skillfully. Almost ready to explode, the girl turned around in a fury to unleash her wrath on the notebook's savior. Little did she expect a not so happy Kenneth glaring at her.
"Oh Kenneth dear, I knew you couldn't resist. I love it when you play rough with me." She cooed, her mood taking a complete 180. Kenneth, however, didn't look like he was going to tolerate any of that.
She quickly wrapped her arms around Kenneth and pulled him in for a kiss, but Kenneth was faster. He maneuvered behind her and gave her a light push forward. Flying forward, her lips met that of some random guy who had just walked in. Kenneth laughed at the comical scene as he sat down. Ashen watched as Ryan smiled slightly, returning to his writing.
"You know Haley, I can't resist when you go around and demand everything your way either," Kenneth called. Haley glared at the unfortunate bystander who shyly backed off and brisk-walked to the other side of the room. She then turned around to flash Kenneth a huge smiled and replied, "I love you too babe."
She just completely ignored his sentence. Ashen marveled. Before any more classroom shenanigans could occur, the teacher had walked in and settled the class, beginning the lesson.
