"What's the news Morrison?" He cheered. "I have the child, I have the drinks and most importantly I have the snacks. Did I miss anything?" She said breathlessly as she juggled with the stroller, a bag of food and a pair of sunglasses which would fall any second. "I think you've got enough Jen" He laughed as he locked the door up behind him.
They walked throught the neighbourhood in a comfortable silence and Jen pushed the stroller and Colin carried the bags. Finally they reached the enterance of the park; it wasnt just a park with benches and trees but there was also a small playground. They continued to walk through the park before they found a bench. Stright away Jen took little Ellie out of her stroller and turned to Colin. "Would you mind holding her for just a minute whilst I try and find her spoon?" She asked as she set her on his knee. "I don't-" he stuttered as he held onto the little girl.
He'd seen people tap their foot to rock the baby and that's all he really was certain of so that's what he did. His knee started to bounce up and down and suddenly his ears were filled with a joyous little shreak. Ellie was soon in fits of laughter at Colin's little knee dance. He soon gained confidence and spun her around so she was facing him. Straight away she tried to stick her tiny hand into his mouth; Colin made a chomping sound before tickling her. Little Ellie threw her head back in giggles once again as Colin continued to tease her.
Little was Colin aware that right next to him was Jen crouched on the floor just looking at the two. She was meant to be finding the spoon in the stroller but she got sidetracked by the two. Trying not to smile proved too difficult and it was becoming painful and her cheeks were aching but she could not help it.
Once she had found the spoon, she took Ellie off of Colin's knee and sat her on her own. Once she was fed she reached out for Colin. Straight away he pulled her towards him. In the process Ellie had started to blow a raspberry with all the baby food still around her mouth and it splattered all over his shirt.
"Oh Ellie!" Jen laughed as she lifted her back onto her knee. Suddenly Ellie started to cry and tried to reach out as far as she could for Colin. It wasn't just a little cry, it was a huge wail.
Suddenly Colin threw off his plaid shirt and was just left in a navy t-shirt which clung to his skin. Jen was left, well... speechless. He was gorgeous. His arms were buldging out of the sleeves and his chest was clearly defined. Jen was practically drooling.
"O-O-Oh-Okay..." She stuttered gawkingly. "You have a bit of drool there Morrison" He joked and laughed as she blushed majorly. He reached over for Ellie and brought her onto his knee. "Now what were all them tears about?" He said childishly but she simply just layed her head on his chest. "Awww" Colin thought aloud as he pulled an adorable face at Jen. Colin took the shirt and brought it to her mouth to wipe away the baby food. "Colin you dont have to!" Jen practically yelled, "It's alright, I can wash it" he smiled.
After a few minutes they went over to the swings and placed Ellie in. Jen stood infronrt of her and Colin was behind as they gently pushed her between them. Colin couldn't help but smile at Jen and her niece. "How are you feeling after last night?" He asked but she simply just shrugged.
They continued to play around on all the little apparatuses and Colin had really taken a shine to the little lass. I was around 3:30 and both Jen and Colin could see she was getting tired and just wanted to lay on Colin. They were sat on the bench just watching all these kids running around when suddenly they felt raindrops on their skin. "We should get going, she's tired and it looks like its going to storm" Jen suggested as she stood pulled the stroller towands them. "Aye" Colin followed as he moved Ellie into the chair. She was now fast asleep and seemed very reluctant to let go of Colin.
He pulled down the raincover for her before relaxing back into the bench. "You were pretty tired last night" He said quietly as he scratched the spot behind his ear. "I was..." She said quietly as the tension between them shifted. The rain poured heavy around them and both of them got soaked. They just sat in quiet for a little while before Jen spoke again, "The last thing I remember was you carrying me to bed, did you just leave after that?" She said quietly, hoping he would understand what she meant.
Crap!
"I-I-" He whispered. He glanced at her for a second and suddenly they were closer. Suddenly his eyes were brighter and so were hers. Suddenly there lips were getting closer. His forehead bumped her as his focus remained on her eyes before taking a glance at her lips. She swallowed the lump in her throat, more nervous than ever. Slowly, both there eyes drifted shut as there lips were simply a hairline away.
Until they both heard and little rattle and a cry. Little Ellie was woken up by the rain and was simply not impressed. "We should... yeah we should get going" He stumbled his words as he reached for the stroller handle. "Yeah- yeah we should" she smiled as they started walking down the street. "Thank you for today, I had fun. She's quite the little lass" he smiled. "Its fine, I should be thanking you. You were great with her; you must be a natural" she smiled back, a blush filling in her cheeks.
They were walking along the street when suddenly he had let go of the stroller and put the brake down. He reached for Jen's wrist and spun her sharply before pressing his lips to hers. Just a brief second, a brief second where sparks lit their bodies and rid them of any normality.
She pulled away quicker than he'd hoped.
"C-colin..." she breathed as she could do nothing but look at his eyes which were strained with true adoration and hope.
Suddenly she was the one to kiss him. It wasn't sweet or gentle like most first kisses go, it was raw and hungry. He pushed her back, causing them to sway around the pavement. Suddenly her back had reached a tree and Colin pressed his body into hers. His tongue ripped through her lips and he was beginning to kiss her senseless. She gripped his biceps as he took her lip in his teeth and gave it a gentle tug before pulling away.
"Never again." Jen said breathless before going back to the stroller.
Colin stood there dumbfounded; heat in his cheeks and an everlasting scar on his lips...
