Kimiko looked at Kai and whispered something into his ear
"I know your having fun here but can we go somewhere private please,I want to give you something and it's my gift for you.I wanted to give it here but it wo'nt shine enough in this place"
"Huh? Wo'nt shine enough?What's the present anyways"
"You'll see,and plus incase you have'nt notice your party took a bunch of hours and look outside it's already dark-but it is the perfect setting for the present I will give you" she said while pointing her hand out the window revealing a pitch black and dark sky with the moon and a bilion of stars shining brightly
Kai's POV
How did I not notice that it was already dark out? How many hours did this party took anyways?
Well might as well just go along with Kimiko I guess.I wonder, what kind of gift she will she give this time? I already said that a present was'nt really nesesary but I appreciate it
Me and Kimiko went outside and the cold wind greeted our faces,but what really took my intrest was the view.It was more beautiful than what we only saw inside and it was more beautiful because the moon's reflection was reflected on the ocean's waters

It was breathtking
Kimiko tapped my shoulder which made me look at her
"it's amazing right? The veiw is simply wonderful-but the view was not the present"
she walked over to a tree and revealed a big container she then braught it near me and started to open it
It was a lantern with stars painted in the sides and pictures of me and her when we were kids but not only that,in the middle of the pictures there was a note from Kimiko which read:
I hope we'll never be seperated
"Thank you,this is the best thing you ever gave to me.I really apreciate this"I said while holding the lantern
"You know I actully ran out of ideas at first and then I saw the pictures when we were young and then paste it on the very first lantern that we made when we were kids "
Then I took a good look on the lantern and remembered the day we built it
FLASH BACK
It was 9 years ago when me and Kimiko would play in the feilds everyday
"hey Kai look, I found an odd looking box in my house's attic,it even has a candle inside it!" she said with a toothy smilne on
"huh, that's not a box-it's actualy a lantern.It floats in the sky when you light the candle inside it ,though I do'nt really know how the lantern floats with only a flame from a candle"
Weeks later we knew how the lantern worked and by then we already wanted to build one
"Kai we have to build a lantern,come on please.WE HAVE TO, I WANT TO BUILD ONE!"
"ok,ok-you do'nt have to shout"
After some time we actualy made a lantern
I remember her smile when we made it-it was so great and I wanted to treashure that moment
Then I remember how her eyes sparkled

She was so beautiful

Ok now Kimiko was looking at me
I probably spaced out
She shifts her gaze to the lantern and smiled
"memories?" she asked me
"yeah" i answered her
Well I guess she knows me well
"um before this I want to tell you something-it really bothered me for a while now and I think if I let it out I might feel ok,so um can I?"
hmm I wonder what she will say
KIMIKO'S POV
ok Kimiko this is it make sureto say it all.

i looked at kai and he was staring at me.
His blue hair was swaying thanks to the wind,his yellow eyes lit a fire in my heart-but i know that what i'm feeling right now is wrong but it will be all fine once i get this off of my chest
I sighed and took a deep breath.kai please understand me just please out of all the people in this village you are the one I trust the most
"um kai, this might surprise you a bit and i hope you will understand what i am about to say and also if you will tell anyone especialy my mom i will not forg-"
"is it about you having a boyfriend?"he cut me off and now was in his serious mode
"n-no,w-what are you talking about? I do not have a boyfriend and plus if I did have a boyfriend why should you care?!"
"I care because i do'nt want anyone breaking your heart! I care because i do'nt want to lose you! I care because i still love you!"
After what he said he covered his mouth and i was frozen in place
Kai loves me?
My heart was beating fast and my mind was racing and I did'nt know what to do
"i-i ..."
What the? Oh no what to do
Okay kimiko be brave
"how do I know your not joking?" i said
Now he was silent but he finaly spoke
"because..."
Now he was looking directly at me
"when have i ever lied to you?
kimiko i have no intention to lie to you because i know that's not what a friend would do especialy a friend like me. And i'm sorry for yelling-let's just forget the things i just said ok?"
"kai..."
i need to tell him
"i love you to" i said but it was so soft and quiet that kai obviously did not hear it
"um what did you say oh um never mi-"
Then i cut him off
"i said i-i"
Oh great i 'm beginimg to stuter again. Oh what the am i blushing?!
Then i felt a hand on top of mine.It was kai's.
He smiled and said"it's ok it's just you and me now just say it"
"ok. Kai i love you to . I know that it's crazy but these past days i have been feelimg realy strange. Whenever i think about you i blush,when you pat my head or hug me my hear beats fast and i do'nt know what to do and it scares me because, your the closest friend i have-the only friend i had and i do'nt want you stay away from me after this. so there you have it" now he was staring at me wide-eyed and then he hugged me
"kimiko why would i ever stay away from someone special to me. I never ever until the end of our lives,ever leave you,that's a promise and i do'nt break my promices and you know that"
everything seems so right i guess i was scared for nothing
This is the best day of my life
"okay now that that's done let's get back to you present"
"i think having you love me is all i need"
"oh shut up"
