Capture the countries.
By Doctor Tyler N. Anderson
Time travel in theory is considered just science fiction; a ridiculous notion discussed only in basements or rooms of star trek and doctor who fans. I believe different then my scientific peers, I believe that once time travel is solved, world hunger can be diminished and world peace can be achieved. To quote poet Sarah Williams in her poem the old astronomer “but remember men will scorn it ‘tis original and true\ and the obloquy of newness may fall bitterly on you.” I am willing to take the scorn of this scientific breakthrough.
I have confidence that once time travel is solved world peace may rain on earth and a new renaissance began. World peace using time travel may be achieved in this one way, many would disagree about the amount of casualties, but a war is never won without a solider dying. Having the ability to travel in time will give us the upper hand. We would be able to appear anywhere and anytime to conquer each country separately and with ease. Winning the war with way may be seen as cheating but world peace is worth the risk. Saving the generations ahead of us from war fare and trials. We as a people can achieve PERFECTION with only one unsolved scientific theory
“Wow, that man was a fun filled lollypop triple dipped in psycho.” I said after reading the article over Anna’s shoulder.
Anna snorted. “Tell me about it!”
“Solve time travel, they said. It will be fun, they said. I’m not solving crap if they plan to use it to rule the world.”
“I’m going to load it onto a flash drive in case they find out and delete it.” Anna clicked away on the keyboard after plugging a flash drive into the USB port.
“Hello children. Might I ask what you’re doing?” a voice came through the door. Startled Anna and I jumped, Anna pulling the flash drive out and stuffing the small computer object into her pocket. Standing in the door way was President Bane.
“I spied Samuel and Elizabeth together eating ice-cream in the parlor down the street. They were in deep discussion and I didn’t want to spoil their fun.” Bane walked over to us and patted our heads, with long creepy fingers. Shivers ran up and down my spine. “So, I see you disobeyed my order and hacked into CATH anyways. How interesting what you decided to look at. Oh, I see disgust in your eyes, Allen.” I looked down. “Don’t look down, some say the eyes are the window to the soul and how I would like to see yours.” insisted Bane.
“Why do you plan to conquer the world?” Annabel said saving me from having to look up.
“We do not want to conquer the world. We want to become Alexander the Great’s and rule the world in peace.”
I snorted “Alexander the Great killed anyone who disagreed with him and burned down a palace basically made of gold because he was drunk. I see why you think him to be such a role model.”
The president made an inhuman noise in his throat. I could tell he wanted to throttle my neck, think this notion made me oddly confident. “I cannot speak for the others but I refuse to work for anyone who believes world domination is the key to happiness.”
“I am with Allen, I refuse to work for you.” Anna agreed
“Well then I have no other choice.” Bane snapped his fingers. “Daniels! Roberts!”
The two burly men rushed in to the room with peculiar shaped guns. The men closed in on us, the closer they got the better I got to see the peculiar guns; at the end of the gun was a long needle-like object and the handle was made of a shiny metal that looked strangely like tin, a trigger and a large silver button occupied the space on the end. Daniels and Roberts each roughly took us by the arms and plunged the needle end of the peculiar gun in to our necks. Pain exploded in my neck, the sudden experience made me gasp. I began to lose focus and my vison was blackening. I heard President Bane say “Geniuses why are they so complicated?”
I summoned up my last strength to say, “Genii, the correct plural noun for Genius is Genii.” Something slammed into my stomach and I blacked out.
