Chapter 5 : Running

With Squirt

Squirt woke up with a shock after having a horrible nightmare
'Oh it wasn't a nightmare' thought Squirt miserably.
When he stepped outside his small shelter , he realized that it had flooded outside his little safehaven
and decided to try and find something edible to eat.
Squirt started walking , careful not to step in any puddles , as he was still walking he saw a small stream a few metres ahead and decided that must be some life at the stream and made a beeline towards it.

At the pound

Strudel woke up early to start up the search for Squirt.
'Oh I hope you are okay Squirt' she thought as she stared sadly at his dogbed. She always wondered why Squirt never wanted to get adopted.
They could easily find his perfect human in no time with the FKD.
As she was still lost in her thoughts Nut-Nut and Sparky stared sadly at her as few tears slipped down her face as she stared at the computer. 

With Lucky

Lucky had just told Dot what had happened with Squirt and she was quite shocked at what had happened
and immediately told him to go and help the others which he was going to do with pleasure.

As he was walking to the pound he immediately remembered what Squirt had told him when Dot had Adopted him

*Flashback*

Lucky had just escaped from that little girl and her costumes and make up.
Did he feel bad for leaving her , yes he did but there was no way she was his perfect person.
Then all of a sudden Squirt came to him with a question

"Uh hey Lucky." Said Squirt titling his head

"Yeah Squirt" said Lucky staring down at Squirt

"Uh you know dogs like me and you don't need humans to make us happy you know" he said uncertain looking up at Lucky with big eyes.

Then it hit Lucky there's a person for every pup and a pup for every person,
That's his motto it's what his whole life us based on and even though his not a pup his still a dog and his Dot's dog,
And no offence but he doesn't want to end like Squirt without any human to love . So he went to get Dot back and win that talent show.

*End of flashback*

Lucky never forget what Squirt had said 'Uh you know dogs like me and you don't need humans to make us happy 'he then first realized that was a set up for Lucky to realized he was wrong about Dot. Man now he really misses Squirt and started to run towards the pound the sooner he finds Squirt the sooner he can thank him.

With Squirt

Squirt finally reached the stream when he saw a group of Wolves drinking at the stream Squirt froze , wolves are know for being aggressive.
He slowly backed away and heard a 'twack' he stepped on a twig which caused all the wolves to stare at him
Squirt gulped as they started moving closer to him.

With the other pound puppies

When everyone arrived at the pound they found Strudel hard at work trying to find Squirt only for the computer to keep on glitching

"AH FLOOFIN DOODLE " yelled Strudel frustrated by the fact that the satellite couldn't reach Squirt

" Uh Strudel why are you frustrated and where's Squirt?" Asked Nibblet confused

They all flinched they forgot to tell Nibblet about the fact of losing Squirt

"Um you see Nibblet ... we lost Squirt when we got Joey adopted" just as Lucky finished his sentence Nibblet started wailing dramatically with his paws over his head.

They all stared at Nibblet and signed

"Don't worry Nibblet I'm sure we'll find Squirt soon."Lucky said pating Nibblet reassuring on the back

"Okay" said Nibblet sniffling and wiping his nose

"Now what seems to be the problem Strudel ? " asked Lucky

"The stupid machine can't reach Squirt" said Strudel looking rather disappointed

"Don't worry Strudel we'll find him some how , let's inform Dolly" Lucky said while Strudel nobbed

With Squirt

Squirt started running as fast as he could but it was no use they're three times his size and Cleary much faster.
Squirt decided to try and lose them in the bushes but only for Squirt to get cuts and thorns and the wolves found a shortcut and cornered him into a valley. 'How did he end up in a valley and how was he going to escape.'
One of the wolves moved closer and said " Nowhere left to run little dog" with a smirk
