Trivial, that's what this is. The last ten minutes have been wasted on discussing whose car I would ride in.
"She can ride in the car with us, but that bear won't fit"
"I don't want that thing in my truck neither of them" a rough southern drawl snapped.
"The dog is trained right?" A soft older voice spoke out.
"Yeah she is. She won't bite anyone if that's what you're worried about. She may be big, but she is a sweetheart." I said resting my hand on Bay's big head.
"Okay then she can ride in the RV with us" that same voice answered.
"But dale we already have Jackie-¨
"So we can always fit one more Andrea."
"But Dal—"
"no buts"
¨Don't worry about it. Bay and I can manage on our own" I quickly said. It would take me half the time to get where they are going then it would take for them to decide where to put me and Bay. I started to turn and click my way down the street.
"Daryl please there's space in your truck."
"nah ain't enough room for those two"
I continues in my way down the road about 5 steps when I heard a gruff
"fine but if that bear shits in my car I'm kicking you both out"
I put my hands on my hips and turn in his direction. "how many times do I have to tell you that she's trained." I mumble a quick dumbass as I turn away from where I presume this man is.
"what you say" I jump slightly as the voice comes closer than expected. Hmm this one is quiet.
"nothing now can we go."
================================
Riding in the car is boring. I'd rather be up in the air, Or at least on top of the RV. We've only made a couple of stops on the way to this CDC place. I think they dropped some guy on the side of the road. Someone named Jim. I think. I honestly don't know exactly what is going on or where we are. I'm trying to drown out the boring conversations going on in the cars behind me as we drive along. I know that someone in the RV is crying and the man from before Rick keeps arguing with another guy about which way we are going.
Don't even get me started on this dumbass next to me all he's done is grunt at us or complain about Bay."Where the hell did you get a bear like this anyway? "
I shrugged and looked towards the warm breeze coming through the window. "I found her in a cardboard box on the side of the road back when I was living on the streets"
"You lived on the streets"
I turned my back to this man leaning my head on my hands on the window of the passenger side of the truck. Mumbling a simple mmhmm
I can feel him staring burning a whole in the back of my head and he can see my scars peaking through. I can hear him grumble behind me as I try to block evey one out and shut my eyes. Bay is sitting in between us on the seat. There's not much room for her as her hot breaths keep hitting Daryl in the face. I can tell it's pissing him off but there is nothing we can do. I can feel the sun going down. It has to be 5-7 o'clock already.
==============================
"Come on Rick, how can you just trust anyone? You brought a blind girl with us. We can't have more mouths to feed that's not going to contribute here."
"Come on Shane, don't start with that, we'll be fine, we have to take a chance on people. I wouldn't be here right now if it was for other people helping me. What if we are keeping this girl alive right now. What do you want me to do? Throw her out on the side of the road."
"Well I mean- "
"Stop that right now Shane, we are not kicking anyone out, especially that poor defenseless little girl."
" She's not defenseless, did you not see her and that bear kill that walker. She can take care of herself."
I groan and rub my head i Can't take their constant back and forth about me.
" Do you really think she's blind?" .... well that's a new voice these must be the people from the RV sounds like a younger man I think.
"She could have fooled me, Glenn. No way you can survive her with just a walking stick and a dog. We'll be lucky if she doesn't just cut out without stuff if she's pretending to be blind."
