She was a little scared. The news of The Heart Stealer, the horrific murderer, was doing rounds and her fear was stemming from those horrid images in the newspaper. Police were issuing warnings and asking everyone to be responsible with whom they meet.

She was being reckless though. After a long bout of solitude, she felt a ray of hope. Yes, she was meeting a stranger for a blind date. But she knew him, just haven't met him yet. Internet was a boon. Surely, she shouldn't call him a stranger!

She reached the restaurant sooner than she thought and saw him sitting in their designated seats. He looked dignified, regal. The black suit did justice to him. And his sleek body was an added bonus. He saw her staring and stood to greet her. Ah! A gentleman to boot! But that glint in his eyes, it gave him a dangerous edge. She shook off the feeling. It was her lucky night. It has to be. She has nothing to fear!

She set her purse on the table as he pulled the chair for her to sit. They ordered the best of wines and most appetizing dishes. Conversation flew as if they have known each other for ages. They indeed did that- knew each other.

As he drove them over to her house after the dinner, she was excited and nervous. She kept stealing glances at him. Only to find him staring dead ahead. Expressionless. Did she make a mistake? No, she hadn't.

And the car stopped and he looked at her. She saw that edgy glint back in his eyes. Her hands tightened over her purse...

Next day.
