Nina's POV

People always say being the new girl at school is terrible, horrendous, even embarrassing. To me I don't find it any of those words, it's actually thrilling and exciting. I slipped myself out of my bed and turned off the alarm that was buzzing annoyingly on my phone.

Grabbing a towel from a box, I walked into the bathroom and turned on the shower. As I stepped inside I wondered what life would be like here at Beacon Hills. Would I make friends easily? Would I adjust to the people as fast as I did with other schools? All the thinking made my head hurt.

I got out of the shower and walked back into my bedroom, rustling through the boxes of packed clothes. In a matter of ten minutes I found an outfit that looked okay to me and threw it on. I grabbed my bag and slung it over my shoulders. Walking downstairs, my nose caught the scent of bacon and eggs and my mothers back came into view.

"Hey sweetie I made you some food so you have a good day." Her eyes glimmered with happiness and I grabbed my plate, shoving the food in my mouth quickly. I smiled at her with the unchewed food in my mouth and she gagged at me. Swallowing the food I jumped off the chair and grabbed her face, planting a nice wet kiss on her cheek.

"Have a good day at work mom. I'll call you when I get back home." She nodded at me, wiping the wet part of her cheek with her sweater.

"Make new friends we might be staying here for a while!" She yelled at me before I slammed the front door shut. I looked around, noticing the fair amount of forest covering the area. Seems safe enough to run in. I thought to myself as I walked down the road. The school came into view faster than I thought it would. I ran my trembling hands through my dark hair and sighed. Be confident, you'll make friends faster. My subconscious said to me. I raised my head up slightly, walking down the sidewalk nearing closer to the school.

Beacon Hills High School. The stone read as I walked past. I looked around, seeing people talking and catching up on news they didn't get to share during the summer. It seemed as if nobody knew I was here, and I kind of liked it so far; not being whispered about being the new girl in town. The bell rang and so did my phone. I quickly took my phone out seeing my moms contact glow on the screen. I pressed answer and heard her smooth voice roll into my ears.

"How are you? Did you make it to school safe? Do you have everything you need?" Her questions continued and I rolled my eyes. She's always been so protective over me, making sure I had everything I needed.

"Hello to you too mom. Yes, I made it to school safe, the bell just rang for class. I remembered everything but a pen." I groaned, looking through my bag and finding no material to write with. I looked around seeing no one in sight. They must be in class already.

"I hope you have a good day, try to make it home safe and call me when you get home." She blabbers at me like the protective mother she is. I smiled, walking into the school and telling her I loved her. Hanging up the phone, I walked into the main office and asked for my schedule.

After they welcomed me to Beacon Hills, one of the assistants helped me find my way to my first class. I smile at how friendly the people are so far and made note to it.

"Hope you have a good day here Nina." He says offering me a genuine smile. I send one back and take in a deep breath as he opens the door to the class.

"Everyone we have a new student today, her name is Nina Ponzi please make her feel welcomed." I look around, seeing all eyes on me. I give an awkward smile and look at the teacher. He nods telling me to take a seat at the empty desk in the middle of the class. I walk over slowly, sitting myself down and looking around.
