~ Some moments are a first and a forever, together, warpped in serenity~

Post breakfast, Nandini Malhotra sat in her bedroom, biting her nails on apprehension. Manik was in his study preparing notes for some urgent case hearing his colleague had called him for. But Nandini's prime concern was something entirely else. When she could not find a suitable answer to her querries, she did what most of us from this genration does.

Google it.

'How to be a good wife in two days!?'

The Google results showed her pictures of ideal wives from the tele soaps, including Akshara and Gopi bahu, but nothing was worth her satisfaction until one of the sites showed her some cliche actions of wives.

Immediately the bulb of her brain lit up, and she smiled to herself in response, before keeping her dupatta over her head, and running towards Manik's study.

Knocking elegnatly, she entered and when Manik raised his eyes, she gave him one of her sweetest smiles.

"Will you be going out?", She asked, very softly, not looking at him, and that made Manik raise his eyes.

"Yes, in half an hour, I guess. Something wrong?",he asked again, wtaching her behaving like she was the shyest person in the whole world.

Nandini shook her head And left the room, leaving a confused Manik behind. He was unable to grasp this sudden change in her, and when he moved to his room, ten minutes later to change, to his surprise, he found a shirt and trouser waiting for him on the bed. The blazer was hanging near the mirror. His watch, hankey, perfume, were all kept on the bed, in order.

Startled and some more confused, he changed into those clothes, and tucked his hankey in his pocket, before draping the wtach. He was about to move towards the mirror when he saw Nandini entering through the glass. She looked him in the eye, via the mirror for a second before lowering them again.

Taking a few slow steps towards him, her anklet making jingling sounds, she walked closer to him and picked up the blazer. All this while Manik had his eyes on her, as if hypnotized with her eyes, and when she opened the blazer, urging him to out his arm down it, through her eyes, Manik was surprisingly elated. He did as she asked, and after she made him wore the blazer, she stood in front of him, fixing the collor, and smoothening it from the top, yet not matching his eyes. She stood on her tippy toes, to reach his shoulders, and in a reflex, Manik grabbed her waist, supporting her.

Feeling his touch on her, Nandini immediately looked him in the eyes, and litearlly felt the world stopping around them. She had always wondered, how could people stare at each other for prolonged minutes, how could they not be aware of everything around them, or how could life in television be so dramatic? But in that moment, in his arms, all her questions were lost, and all his apprehensions were gone too.

Because then, they were simply Manik and Nandini, who had no legitimate explanation to the hayware beating of their hearts in the close proximity of each other.

After a few paused minutes, Nandini lowered her eyes again, breaking his trance, and he left her, looking everywhere but at her. He turned his back to her, hurriedly picking up his half closed laptop from the bed, and his office bag from the study room. He was about to leave when something struck him and he stopped, to turn again.

" I will be back in an hour or so!", He spoke softly to Nandini who smiled, before giving him a small tiffin box.

"Have them whenever you have time! And come soon!", She smiled sweetly again, and Manik was sure he was going to faint any coming minute. With confusion running in his veins, he left, and Nandini exhaled loudly, moving her dupatta from her head, and doing a little crazy dance at her success.
