"Hey uh where's Shawn?" I ask Aaliyah as I hadn't seen him all night.

This was his house his get together yet he wasn't here. Or maybe he's avoiding me. It feels like he's been doing that for a while.

"Uhh balcony I think. I don't know what's up with him." She responds.

I nod softly.
"Thanks A." I call her by the nickname I have for her.

I walk over to Lukas. Who's talking to some of Shawns friends.

"Hey I'll be right back." I state softly. He smiles before kissing my cheek. I shift uncomfortably because this is our second date and I still don't really like him. But I thought I'd give him a chance.

I see Geoff and Andrew send each other a look.

Lukas smiles at me softly.
"Yeah sure I'll be here." He responds.

I smile small before walking towards the balcony quickly. I open the door and there's Shawn overlooking the entire city of Toronto.

I slightly shiver as the cold air hits my arms. I mentally slap myself for wearing a sleeveless shirt to a party in the middle of winter.

Shawn turns for a second when he hears my boots hitting the floor. But he quickly looks back towards the city.

"Hey." I greet as I stand next to him my arm brushing against his jacket.

"Hey y/n." He responds not looking at me.

"What're we looking at?" I ask as I stare at all the cars in traffic. Car horns can be heard in the distance.

"I don't know...the lights." He says softly.

I nod my head while looking up at him since he's almost a foot taller than me.

"Why aren't you inside? Why aren't you being social at you're party?" I ask looking down at the street.

"I'm just not feeling it. I'm tired."

"Late night at the studio?" I smile small since I know how much Shawn likes making music.

He shakes his head softly causing me to furrow my eyebrows.

"Late night thinking." He sighs while running his hand softly gripping the railing.

"Are you ok?" I ask looking at him as his jaw clenches.

"I'm fine." There it was the constant short answers.

"Are we ok?"

He finally looks down at me and meets my eyes.

"We?" He questions staring into my eyes.

"Y-yeah. It seems like you haven't been wanting to talk to me for a while." I shrug while looking away from his intimidating eyes.

"We're best friends we're always ok." He tried to assure but I can see he doesn't mean it.

I slightly hug my self as I shiver a bit more.

"Here." He says taking off his jacket. He hands it to me.

I smile at him gratefully. I begin to slip on the jacket that fits slightly big on me. I sigh over dramatically causing him to look at me.

"God you're such a cliché Mendes." I giggle.

He smiles and rolls his eyes. He softly shoves me.

"A thank you would be nice." He suggest with a grin.

I laugh softly.

When the laughter dies down it's back to the comfortable silence. Yet Shawn seems tense.
