NICOLAS ERIK ABEL

"I promise." Nicolas whispered towards his father who stood over him, casting a tall shadow. "I'll protect him with my life." Nicolas lowered his head. His hands gripped at the heart locket around his chest. He lifted the brass locket to his lips and kissed it, saying a short prayer. He made a promise.

Nicolas (Nico) Erik Abel is twenty-two years old, born May 17th, 1996. He is a Taurus at heart, but it doesn't show in his finances.

Nicolas is a unique man; he stands at 6'5 and weighs 230 pounds. He's muscular with a soft, small tummy. His skin is a healthy shade of beige. He has "WAR" tattooed on his collarbone, a result of his angsty teenage years. His thin hair is a very, very pale blond and goes past his shoulders, brushing against his upper back. Usually, he ties it into a ponytail with an old red ribbon and always has his fringe slicked back. His eyes are thin and a striking sky blue, with hardly visible lashes and brows. Under his thin eyes are exaggerated creases and dark spots of exhaustion and ill health. His face is squarer in shape, with no soft features. Compared to his finer features, his teeth are yellow and damaged and one is missing because of his tendency for chainsmoking and getting into fights. There is a small dent in his head from his childhood that caused minimal brain damage.

Nicolas is a soft-spoken and quiet man who has strong morals and honourable ideals. He's loyal to those he loves and would quite literally die for them. He's defensive of others and is highly empathetic. He has a soft spot for women and children, and he can grow extremely violent should he see someone being mistreated. He often gets into brutal fights at the bar he works at with bigots. He always stands up for what's right, albeit in a poor manner. When it comes to Vincent or his fiancee, Nicolas doesn't hold back. Should his family be at risk, he immediately takes a stand. Nicolas can come off as distracted and distant to strangers because of his cautious habits. He obsessively watches his surroundings for danger and often deals with irrational and intrusive thoughts that can frighten him during the most casual of social situations. Nicolas enjoys working for others and helping others.
Nicolas struggles with decisions and smart spending. He lacks self control when it comes to money and emotional decisions, often throwing himself right into a debt or a regretful night.
He's defensive of the brass heart-shaped locket that hangs around his neck. It was a gift from his adoptive father, Franko. Inside it holds a picture of Vincent grinning in a field of yellow wheat. He couldn't be older than ten.

Nicolas suffers from addictions, PTSD, hypersexuality and mild seizures. He hides these from his family and only confides in his rich father, Jean-marie who provides him with minimal finances in order to keep his disabilities hidden and managed.

Nicolas is a lax Christian who often attends Church on Sundays with his little brother, Vincent. He's gone against the word of God and feels guilty when asking Him for assistance. Nicolas believes that God will never forgive him, but he forgives God for doing so. Religion brings both pain and comfort to Nicolas.

Nicolas is considered a musical prodigy. He plays a ragged guitar that he had repaired. His voice is rich and deep, with a tender ring. People often comment that he has a dreamy feel to his music. He can also play violin and piano, and often takes advantage of the harp at his father's place. Nicolas is also a gifted writer with a hypnotic way with words. He often writes love letters to his lover, Ana, and helps Vincent woo his girlfriend. He is intelligent like his brother, but not gifted with academics.
He had dropped out of highschool at fifteen due to stress and mental issues. He was well known for causing large, messy fights. He was close with the orchestra director, Ms. Hilen, who had died of cancer just a month before he dropped out.
