Chapter 10

Four hours.

The journey took four hours.

And we sat there for four hours, not saying one word to each other.

We didn't even stop for food or the toilet, we just sat there for four hours straight not saying one word to each other. We both were lost in our own thoughts or listening to the songs and the competitions on the radio.

Finally, we pull up to the airport, and as Ryder tries to find a parking space I am practically bouncing up and down in my seat because my legs are just itching to stretch, and even though the land rover is very spacious, it's not the same as actually standing and being able to walk around. The second Ryder pulls into a parking space, he pulls out his phone because someone from a werewolf car rental that is closer to the airport will come and pick it up from the parking space, and as Ryder leaves the money to pay for the parking in one of the glove compartments in the car, I happily hop out of the car and stretch my tired limbs.

I walk stiffly around the back of the car to the boot and press the button so I can get the suitcases out of the car. I pull the first suitcase out of the car, not without a lot of difficulty, and go to reach for another one but Ryder's hand clamps around my wrist.

"It's ok; I've got it." He says sounding really tired, but as per usual his face shows no emotion.

"Ok, I'll go and get a trolly." I reply and before he can reply I walk towards the entrance if the airport where there are lines of trollies. And I put the pound coin in the slot and walk back over to the car where Ryder has unloaded his one suitcase and my three suitcases.

"Come on, lets go." Ryder says and we set off into the airport.

We cue up for over half an hour, check in our luggage and go through security before we say anything at all. I really hope are relationship is not going to be like this all the time, because I do wish that we can be friends, but I don't mind spending time on my own or not talking that often. I guess it is because I have grown up spending a lot of time in my own company, so it is not going to be something that I am not used to. And I have packed all of my books, which is close enough to fill a library, so I will have them to occupy my time.

"Do you want anything to eat?" Ryder asks when we arrive in duty free.

"Erm, ok." I nod, gripping the handle of my hand luggage tightly in my hand.

"What do you want?" He asks, the same emotionless expression on his face as he scans the duty free food court.

"Erm, KFC?" I ask because me being a werewolf, I'm craving meat.

"What, you don't want a salad or anything?" He snorts, and his tone is implying something.

"Do I need to eat a salad?" My tone is offended as I looking down at my body.

"No," Ryder shakes his head, "it's just most girls... Oh never mind." He waves me off and walks to the queue that is lining under the KFC sign.

I sigh and sheet my head as walk around looking for a table, and I find a table for two free and I plop down in one of the seats and pull out one of my three books that I packed in my hand luggage.

I'm too enthralled in my book to notice when Ryder sits down in the seat across from me, and only when I feel I tap on my arm do I look up at Ryder who has a mouth full of chicken. He jest urea to the box of chicken in front of me before he carries on digging into his food.

"Thank you." I say softly, and I pick up my book and with the other hand tentatively picks up pieces of chicken or chips and place them in my mouth.
