As he walked, Jimin admired the patches of pale blue sky peeking out from in between the treetops. He loved taking the shortcut through the woods to Taehyung's work, as it was quieter and calmer. Not to mention quicker. He took a sip of his coffee and cursed softly, as it was still scalding and burned his tongue.
The weather, however, was perfect this early in the morning- not too hot, but not chilly enough for him to grab a jacket. Of course, the temperature would soon vastly increase as the day went on, as it was the middle of August. Even so, Jimin reminded himself to enjoy the sun's warmth and the luxury of wearing thin, light clothing while he still could.
Jimin often contemplated which season was his favorite and why, as he could never really pick one season in particular. After forcing himself to eliminate winter, he finally settled on spring and fall. Both seasons are similar temperature-wise, but also have their own individual details that he loved.
It was at this moment that Jimin reached the clearing and after leaving the woods, he carefully made his way across a grassy field and out of the park. He skipped alongside the road, already seeing the elementary school in the distance. The teachers this year had decided that the kindergartners should meet 3 times a week over the summer so that they'd be comfortable with their peers and familiar with their classroom. Jimin first laughed at Taehyung's grumpy expression when he was complaining to Jimin about losing a large chunk of his summer, but Jimin's laughter quickly faded when he realized he'd be waking up early as well. No matter how much he hated waking up early- he'd do anything for his best friend.
After the accident and the incident- they made a pact to be there for each other at all times. So Jimin always attended the preschool Taehyung worked at in the mornings, and Taehyung always spent time with Jimin in the evening when he gave dance lessons. Both boys were also taking the same college classes, hoping to pursue their dreams of becoming performers.
It was at this moment that Jimin snapped out of his daze, as he currently stood in front of the elementary school. He could already hear the joyous screams and shouting from the children inside, and he subconsciously smiled.
Jimin gently pushed open the door, only to find himself face to face with a little girl. His eyes widened in shock, her eyes widened in surprise, and she grinned. Jimin froze, his gaze fixated on the little girl in front of him. That gummy smile, those cat-like shaped eyes was all too familiar. She opened her mouth to speak, but was soon cut off by the voice of another, more older individual.
"Yoora!" called Jackson, a kind-hearted guy who often volunteered at the elementary school as an excuse to visit his boyfriend. He also took college classes with Jimin and Taehyung, and the duo quickly grew close with him. Jackson smiled sheepishly at Jimin, and turned to scold the little girl- Yoora- but his stern expression softened as she ran forward, giggling, and hugged him. Him being extraordinarily tall and her being extremely small, she only came to about his waist. Jackson sighed and picked her up, throwing her over his shoulder. She squealed as Jackson carried her away. And Jimin was left alone, his mind and thoughts consumed by the little girl he just saw.
