Chapter Six
"Raavveen" An eerie voice lingers and echoes in a large abandoned church deep in the secluded cyprus forests.
Raven quickly tries to sit up and grunts in pain holding her stomach as she forfeits and lies back down again.
A tall blonde with sharp loud clicking heels walks over to her shaking her finger.
"Not so quickly, you wouldn't want to rip the stitches out. Don't know if I'd enjoy picking maggots out of you for a second time." She says looking at her nails that are dirty and red around the cuticles from dry blood.
"Olivia" Raven says exhaling deeply and swallowing, her mouth dry and sticky.
Olivia smiles and leans over Raven letting the tips of her hair hover above her face.
"Don't sound too happy to see me." She says with a dry sarcastic tone and glares into her eyes. "I wouldn't want you to get too cozy with me; you'd leave me for dead like the last time." She hisses through her teeth in anger.
Raven slowly slides out from under her death stare and sits up staring at the ripped shirt stained with blood draped across her wounded stomach.
"You don't look dead to me." Raven says in almost a whisper trying to control her breath and keep the stitches closed.
Olivia scoffs.
"Close enough to death to smell the rotten flesh, to feel the fire burning behind my eyes, to..."
"I'm sorry Olivia." Raven interrupts looking back at her with regret in her eyes.
"Sorry?" Olivia says raising an eyebrow. "I'm stuck with this cancer... this disease that eats away at my soul, and you're sorry?" She holds her hands out and stares at her sharp bloody finger nails.
Raven slowly gets up and walks closer to her biting hard on her teeth to control her pain.
"I can deal with it all Raven!... but when you left me that's when I really felt my life start to slip away." Olivia starts to tear up slowly dripping lines of dark mascara down her cheeks.
Raven bows her head and looks at the floor almost too ashamed to see the pain she caused.
"There's a cure"
Olivia almost immediately stops her tears and her eyes open widely.
"Where?" She says quickly.
"I'm not sure; Daniel must have taken it for himself."
Olivia becomes confused and stares intently at her.
"What do you mean for himself?"
"The cure is only a single dose. It can only cure one person." Raven says bending down slowly and putting her large leather boots on.
Olivia turns and lays her hands on the altar her back facing Raven.
"Is that all you know?" Olivia says quietly sulking as she leans on the altar.
"Yes."
"Well... Since you've told me everything you know, I guess the competition for the cure is on, and it's time to narrow the competition down." Olivia says grabbing a sharp knife off of the altar.
Raven looks into the eyes of Olivia noticing her eyes becoming a deep gray, her heels splintering the old wooden floors of the church as she turns to face Raven.
"Don't" Raven says standing up and preparing herself.
Olivia runs over to Raven and takes a stab at her chest only to meet the strong grip of her callused hands gripped around Olivia's wrist. Olivia smirks and uses her other hand to hit Raven in the stomach.
Raven grunts in pain and let's go of Olivia's wrist holding her stomach only to be met by Olivia's heel kicking her to the floor.
"I will fix what you've done to me." Olivia growls and stands over Raven's weak body trying to take another stab at her.
Raven grabs Olivia's wrist once more and struggles to keep the knife away from her neck that's pulsating with her quick beating heart.
"St...op" Raven struggles to say staring up into the animal like eyes of Olivia.
Olivia uses her other hand on the shaft of the knife forcing it even closer to Raven's neck.
Raven feels her body burning from the inside out. Her heart races even quicker now and her eyes begin to shift from the clear blue into pale silver. Her world feels as if its spinning, being controlled by something powerful, something evil inside of her.
Raven rolls on top of Olivia pushing her onto her back and quickly turns the knife on her. Her arm muscles flex showing the strength within them as she swiftly pushes the knife into Olivia's chest piercing her heart.
Olivia opens her mouth and slowly her eyes go back to the light brown, just like they always were.
"Ra..." Olivia tries to say.
The floor begins to pool with warm sticky blood. Raven can feel beads of sweat run down her short black hair and onto Olivia's lifeless body.
Her heart beat starts to slow; her pale eyes start to fade back into blue.
Raven moves her hands away from the knife and watches as Olivia's arms slide down to her sides. She looks at her hands, covered in blood and then into Olivia's eyes.
Her hands shake as she puts them onto Olivia's face and slowly shuts her eyes lids to cover up the death in her eyes.
