Only You

"So when do you think you're going to be back?" I ask Elliot Fintry over the phone as I lie across the soft green grass in my backyard, gazing up at the bright orbs of light floating through the night sky. A soft breeze passes by as my mind wanders towards thoughts about Elliot Fintry. Not a day went by without thoughts of a certain American boy crossing my mind.

"In about t-minus two minutes," he replies. A pause forces its way through our conversation. He's lying. He has to be.

"You're shitting me," I laugh after a few moments with a knowing smirk as I sit up. "Good one."

"Well I admit I lied. I'm actually going to be at your house around... now."

Right on cue, I hear the door to the backyard slide open behind me and I immediately freeze in place.

"Jensen."

There is only one boy I know with that beautiful American accent.

"I'm here."

His voice sounds much better in person.

"Turn around, Munchkin."

I slowly turn and am greeted with the annoyingly attractive face of the American prick I love. My breath hitches. I try forming words, but my lips refuse to pour any out. Only he can leave me at loss for words like that.

"Fintry."

"Jensen."

My legs decide at this point to finally be able to move from its paralyzed state as I stand up and wrap my arms around Elliot Fintry. He winds his own arms around my waist. We embrace in sweet silence, as I feel the familiar tingles shoot through my arms by the touch of him.

"Ellie, say something," he pleads, as he continues to clutch onto me.

"You got tan," I finally manage to respond as I take a step back away from him and look him up and down. Elliot lets out a chuckle, the deep hearty sound echoing throughout the calm night. God, I miss hearing that laugh. I could play it on repeat constantly.

"You're back," I mutter in disbelief. The temptation to pinch myself and make sure this wasn't just a dream was high.

"I'm back," he confirms,"And I'm not leaving."

"I've missed you," he says as he looks me in the eye with those beautifully dark orbs of his. He twirls and plays around with strands of my hair.

"Can't say I feel the same way," I retort into his shoulder, with a smirk playfully on my lips. Elliot quirks an eyebrow.

"I have a hard time believing that," he responds, as he leans in close to my ear.

"I know you missed me, Jensen. You're a terrible liar," he whispers, leaving chills on the back of my neck. I can almost hear the smirk in his voice. He sneaks in a quick peck on the side of my neck, immediately causing me to shiver under the cool touch of his lips. I push him away feeling the blood rush to my cheeks. We pull away from our hug, but Fintry holds onto my hands.

"Did you," I hesitate to finally ask,"get everything sorted out, back in the States?"

"Yeah," Fintry responds tersely as he lies down on the grass and lets go of my hand. I decide against pushing the subject and lie down besides him. He wraps his arms around me as I lean into his chest feeling it rise and fall with every breath he takes. We stay in this position for many minutes in serene silence.
