Change, he said. Laurie thought as she patted down on her yellow floral dress and sighed at her reflection in the mirror.

He did say that they where going for a ride, she pouted her lips and glanced back to the bed at her denim pair of jeans.

What if he decides to stop somewhere? A restaurant?

Shaking her head, she scoffed at herself. “This isn’t a date Laurie. It’s just a drive around town to please his mother.” She reminded herself.

Taking another look at her reflection, she tugged at her ponytail and shrugged her shoulders in resignation. She had already changed outfits three times already and Tomas would probably come storming up the stairs any minute now if she didn’t go down. Grabbing her clutch from bed sided table and gave herself a little pat on the back and told herself that everything was fine and that she was over thinking everything as usual.

The dress that she had on was safe - casual but not overly much. It was better to be safe, she thought, walking out of her bedroom and made her way downstairs.

The sudden roaring sound of the car engine startled Laurie as she was shutting the front door close. Turning around, she saw Tomas staring impatiently back at her in his blue convertible. He had the top pulled back, Laurie noticed, biting back the thrill of excitement that ran through her.

She had always been fascinated by fast cars - loved them, if she was being honest. But never had the chance to get behind the wheels of one.

It was only when Tomas creased his brows at her that Laurie realised that she was still standing on the doorstep, smiling like an dumbstruck idiot. Her lips quickly fell back in place, chewing on he inside of her cheek as she scurried down the step and sauntered over the cobbled stone, making her way over to the car and got in.

“Sorry for making you wait so long. I wasn’t quite sure what to wear.” She blabbered nervously, squeezing at the brow leather clutch on her lap.

The smell of fresh leather filled her nose and she shivered.

Oh God! She was nervous. Why was she so nervous? It wasn’t as though they hadn’t been alone together before, she told herself. It was probably because the idea of him taking her out sort of felt like them going on a date.

“It’s fine, Ms. Slade. And what you are wearing will do.” Tomas said, nonchalantly.

Will do?

Laurie blinked, uncertain if that he thought she was overdressed but was just trying to spare her feelings instead of asking her to go change. She glanced down at her dress and frowned before casting a look at his own attire.

The white long sleeves shirt, rolled to his elbows made her swallowed on a dry throat. His olive tanned skin complimented the saintly colour perfectly and navy blue pants that he had on... her head jerked up, suddenly feeling out of place. Like her sitting next to him, dressed the way that she was would somehow clash with his whole image.

“Maybe I should just go back and quickly change into something else,” She said, gazing back at the house.

Tomas frowned. She was acting strange and couldn’t seem to keep her eyes on him for more that two seconds without blushing.

His eyes trailed over the strapless dress that she had on. And when they returned to her face, a splash of dissapointment stung when he noticed her still gazing anywhere but at him.

“Strap in, Ms.Slade.” He said, taking a black pair of sunglasses that he had placed on the dashboard and plopped them on. “What you have on is fine.”
