Walking down that aisle was the hardest experience I've ever encountered in my short life. The people stared at me and I could only smell cheap perfume and bleach. It was dark, too dark to see the numbers clearly but I stumbled to my seat. I sat down and the stranger next to me snored softly, then grunted and turned his head. My hands shook as the train began to my move and my bag kept my lap warm. The heaters that threw air through the little vents stirred as the train quietly clacked along it's track. Slowly the comforting warmth of sleep overtook my body and I gladly let it take control.
The lights went out, the house was silent. I could just make out his breathing. Her steps walked towards our hiding spot and my heart beat so fast I swear she could hear me. The gun held firmly in her small, shaky hands, she was mad at me and her father, she wanted to kill me and I knew she would. Cautiously he stood up and went towards her , her eyes weren't well adjusted. She screamed at him, assuming it was me, pointed the gun. It went off and he collapsed.
My eyes flipped open to find I was still on the train, still next to the snoring stranger, still in the darkness. Sweat surrounded me and I shivered at the dream, at the memory.

The train moved away from the station, I would start my new life here. I clutched my bag to my chest and walked towards the bathroom. I was going to meet my roommate today then go to a job interview for a babysitting job, it wasn't much but it would cover half the rent, half the bills and half the groceries. The mirror reflected the distorted image of my pale face, my small nose and pink lips, the grey eyes and black hair with occasional freckles on my cheeks. The mirror showed the tangled mess of hair piled on my head, the brush pulled at the roots in an attempt to untangle it. Eventually my hair turned soft and I managed to pull half of it up. Mascara was placed on my eyelashes, normally I don't find this necessary but today it is. I changed into a black pencil skirt that say at my knees and a white silky blouse tucked in and a grey cardigan. My feet felt right as I slipped on my favourite black heels. I brushed my teeth, yes in the bathroom sink. I was ready to go to the interview. The busy streets made it hard to find a taxi to take me to the house, it was a job looking after three kids, two girls and a boy. The boy, Liam was the oldest and very protective of his little sisters, the middle girl, Emma was sweet but can be trouble and the youngest, Celia, was just a toddler and loved counting. At least, this was what their mother told me. The house was made of huge, stone blocks with marble columns and green gardens with water fountains, there were roses and tulips and lily's. On the front porch was a young girl, around 14. She was wearing a white dress that pulled in tight at her waist and flowed gently the rest of the way down to her ankles. She sat there on a chair talking to another girl around the same She was, presumably a school friend. She walked towards me to introduce herself.

'I'm Emma and this is Stacie, you must be Caitlyn, the new Nanny, correct me if I'm mistaken' she spoke fluently and politely all the while showing eye contact while her friend cowered behind her.

'That's correct, it's very nice to meet you Emma, as for you Stacie'.

Emma's eyes shone as she looked towards me, her eyes were bright blue and her blonde hair turned golden in the sun. She had a button nose, clear skin, not very pale but not incredibly tanned. Stacie's eyes were chocolate brown and her hair matched.

'Emma, is this Caitlyn' a male voice called out, it was deep and charming. Stacie looked his way and blushed as he walked our to meet us.

'She's very nice don't you think, Liam'. She smiled at me sweetly. Her posh way of speaking beginning to slip into a more relaxed, casual version.

'We need to show her around Emma, mum said if she still wants the job and we like her she can have it' he was looking at Emma, almost trying to ignore Stacie's stare.

'Where is Celia, isn't she just a baby' my mind races, the mother isn't around and the two eldest were out here.

'She's gone for a check up with mum' Emma explained cautiously. 'Stacie, your driver is here, I suggest you hurry.

Stacie scurried off towards a sleek black car with darkened windows, Emma waved and Liam breathed a sigh of relief.

"She is not dim Liam, she just gets nervous around you, especially because of the marriage as soon as she turns 18."

The two kids show me around the house then I leave to meet the new roommate I'll be living with. She s a young girl with blonde hair and emerald eyes. The meeting goes well and I move into the second room. The house is small and homely, the lounge room has dark carpet with white leather couches, there is a small fireplace and a small T.V. there is also a coffee table in the center of the room.

I slowly drift off to sleep, only for it to be constantly troubled.
The lights turn out, Kailee slowly climbs the stairs. Her words taunting me.

"Caitlyn, I know you can hear me, where are You? It's time for you to be destroyed, you'll get what you deserve. You ruined my family and chased my mum away so you could have my dad's money." Her steps are muffled as she gets into carpet. She's in the living room. Her father and I are crouched down behind the couch. "I'm going to shoot you Caitlyn, then my mum will come back and me my dad and my mum will live a perfect life. Without You. No one could love you Caitlyn, my dad just wanted someone around and you were the only one pathetic enough to chase away a family and then step into their place." The gun in her hand is swinging around violently. Slowly as she stand in front of the couch, he stands up, his head turning slowly towards me as if saying stay here.

Her eyes were barely adjusted, she saw a figure move and shot. The sound rattled the glass and my heart stopped as my husband fell to the floor. Slowly Kailee leaned down, realising what she had done her eyes dart to the couch. She then just holds her father's limp body in her arms, the gun forgotten. I make my escape, her eyes were so focused on her fathers dead body she didn't notice me, and if she did she decided I wasn't worth it anymore. I make it outside and call an ambulance.
The sound of an alarm rings through my head and I slowly wake, realising it was only a dream, or another memory, I can't tell anymore. My heart races and once again my eyes release tears the way a tap releases water. I cry about everything I got myself into. I cry for Kailee and for her father Sam and I cry for Kailees mother and I cry for my brother. Slowly after crying for an hour the tears run out and I can no longer let any fall. I walk out to Sarah, my roommate and she notices my puffy eyes and red face. She doesn't ask and instead engulfs me in a hug. It wasn't awkward and it really helped to know someone wanted to be there for me. I lean into her and she supports me. We stay like that for a while and eventually I make my way to the shower. Sarah gives me a questioning look but lets it go. I can't afford to tell her what happened so I'll just tell her I was in a long term relationship and it ended recently, it's close enough to the truth, isn't it.
Soooo, it's not great but I'm working on it. Hopefully I can get another chapter out soon.
