“Staying late again, Edwards?” inquired Leigh Anne, enlightening her departure from the office — disregarding the keys to engaged cells in her desk.  Perrie only gripped an inarticulate sendoff, for her eyes raked over a depiction of two drafted profiles — the overall dazing of someone’s simplistic features, you couldn’t perceive a flaw of dissimilarity.  Her brooding observation slid into a delay as her friend with bowed tresses snatched both drawn scenes from right under her nose for her own aspect. Her shoulders ascended, ensuing afoot with their downfall as she returned the composites.

“They look the same to me, Perrie,” she stated, permitting the verses shadowing to pin down the blonde’s retort for a moment, “If that thought has ever crossed your mind, this case could’ve been solved a long time ago.”

“I suppose the condition he’s in when committing these corruptions could affect how his complexion is seen to witnesses,” admitted Perrie, “He’s become cocky enough to let others observe his damn delinquencies, it’s like he’s mocking me.” Her last words hissed out in a maddened rumble — enough to trigger back Leigh Anne’s courtesy.

“Calm down, hun.” reassurance toyed around on her lips, a bit diverted by her friend’s exaggerated, playful anxiety. Technically, the young detective had every privilege to have an infuriated attitude towards this person.  His documented baggage scraping the ceiling of this office for years—his indictments, she couldn’t seem to clasp onto well enough for it not to glide out of her digits. There was only one way to make it through a session of nitpicking the little white details from the heap.

“You need a break from work; all this stress isn’t good for your health. I didn’t want to say anything, but your thighs are getting a little pudgy.” Leigh badgered, enticing any liveliness still on the brim of Perrie’s disposition — if any was thriving nevertheless, she’d return a snicker.  Some depicted with the slimmest dampen, but the coo pattering out of her lips was an upgrade.

“What do you have in mind?” the blonde tresses bid, wrapping the lectures back into their paper cocoon and mounding them back onto their outsized paper chimney.

“Maybe, we visit the bar across the street; meet up with a few other officers, what we regularly do without you,” recapped the curly haired colleague, affirming a repetitive pattern for the commencement of the weekend even though their duties of tidying up London never repose.

“And, you never know, maybe you’ll meet a guy there,” she augmented, nudging at the blonde’s arm. It was more of a relevant provoke to pick at her nerves — ages trudged by since Leigh last saw her accomplice happy with someone she regarded affection towards.  Career had her full attention, an affiliation could just induce her away from it, and crime was to be as stubborn as to voyage right through a women plagued in that sentiment.  But, alcohol is a valid defense for a kink in her behavior, and her secret devotion to pallid tasting tablets.

The proposal was considered, and finally, Perrie countered, “Alright, I’ll join you, just don’t set me up with anyone, yeah?”

“Don’t worry, I’ll let you choose your own toys, Edwards,” Leigh brazenly chuckled, “Just pack up your stuff and meet me outside the station so we can walk over together.”

She obtained a small gesture that her fair haired accessory would be ready in a moment, and with that, Leigh Anne advanced with Perrie unaided in the unobtrusive looking office.   Her choice of withdrawal ought to have been without expectance that Perrie would seam into her cloth clique, for if Leigh witnessed the colorful prescription skittles purloined from out of her desk drawer, and slipped into her bag, she’d never reason twice about taking the blonde anywhere.  Even though without them, there was no assurance you’d unearth Perrie Edwards going out for amusement.
