Senior year was different from what I've expected. When I was younger, I imagined it to be a period of time packed with lots of ginormous assignments, responsibilities and annoying fellows. Don't get me wrong, I still had my fair share of typical high school experiences like meeting new people or partying all night long albeit being socially awkward. But still, I would have never expected my senior year to revolve around creating new friendships and finding love to begin with.
In middle school, I was comfortable in my tightly knit group of six friends. We've known each other even before we've hit puberty or have developed a great sense of style. I grew accustomed to their company because it has always been safe to stick with the people you knew. Truth to be told, we had a great time. Our friendship consisted of regular night outs where we spent the majority of time talking, laughing and enjoying life to its fullest. It was great being surrounded by people who cared about you.
As the years passed by, our genuine intentions faded away. At first, I wasn't even aware of the cracks in our friendship or at least I pretended not to know anything. As you might assume, many secrets that have been exchanged among the six of us. We were best friends so it was a common thing to share our deepest thoughts with each other. Some of them remained in the backs of our minds, others turned out to be the beginning of a nasty fight between truths, lies and the hidden secrets in-between.
Honey, this is a story of ruination. Are you ready to fight?
