"It all happened so fast. I.. I still don't believe they're gone. Even now, at their funeral. They- they were my best friend, my only family. I loved them. I still do. I wish they never went out there.. If they just stayed home, my best friend would still be here. If that stupid, stupid driver had looked where she was going.. none of us would be here today. I know that they would want you to all laugh and have fun, but I don't know if that's possible. They meant so much to all of us. But from this tragedy, I've learned that we should.. we should..." At this point, I had broken down in tears. Lizzy had to come up to the podium and cradle me, to stop me from crying and calm me down. I got up, and finished my speech. "I've learned that people can be gone in a second, so we should love them while they're still here. Like Jacy. We're all going to miss them dearly. I.. I hope you all have a wonderful day.
