Jazi and Emily exited the restrooms and joined Harley an Marygrace. The four followed a waiter to a table. The table was in a corner, away from other guests but not so isolated that it was uncomfortable. As the girls waited, they began to talk.
For a few minutes everyone just sat there trying to think of a way to start the conversation. After sitting in an awkward silence, Emily decided to start up a conversation.
"How's everyone doing today?" Emile asked, causing Harley to give her a weird look.
"Really, that's the best you could come up with?" Harley asked, raising a non existent eyebrow.
"Just answer the question.." Emily sighed out. After their small chat, the silence arose once again.
"Hey, how ya doin', well I'm fine just fine. I lied, I'm dying inside~" Jazi sang quietly, breaking that silence. Everyone at the table started to giggle.
"I've been doing pretty good but college has been kind of stressful." Harley spoke, ringing her fingers together.
"Wait. Is everyone here in college?" Emily suddenly realized. Everyone nodded their heads.
"Why don't we all say what our majors are?" Marygrace suggested. The other three nodded in agreement, before she continued. "I'll go first, I'm doing Music Performance and Musical Education."
Harley decided to go next. "My major is Criminal Investigation." she said proudly.
Next Jazi. "My majors are Film Production and Musical Theatre." She said a little bashfully.
Finally Emily went. "My Majors are Film Production and Music performance." As soon as she said this a big smile spread across her face.
After she finished speaking, a waiter walked up. His name tag read Sans and he held a wide, kind smile. He was taller than the four girls and looked older. His hair looked dyed and he had dark bags under his eyes. "Hello ladies, what can I get you four to drink?" He asked, taking out a notepad and pen.
"I would like a coke please." Emily requested. Sans nodded his head, writing down her drink.
"I want a green tea, please and thank you." Marygrace asked. Sans continued to nod, a smile reforming on his face.
"I'll have apple juice " Harley decided, making Sans' smile to widen. He then turned to Jazi.
"And, for you miss?" He asked politely.
"Ah, I will have, uhm, uh..." Jazi fumbled with her words, mentally debating on what to get.
"Lovely choice, that will be one coke, one green tea, one glass of apple juice, and one smoothie coming up." He sent a kind smile to the four before leaving the table.
"Was that what you wanted?" Emily asked, impressed that the man could read her friend that easily.
"That was what I was debating, I guess he saw what I was looking at." Jazi shrugged, ignoring it.
"Hmm, well then!" Marygrace announced after a few moments of silence. "What should we talk about?"
The four girls sat awkwardly, trying to think of what to talk about. Eventually, they did talk. They got to know each other little by little and quickly became friends. Sans came back with their drinks and they ordered off the menu. In the end, the girls were friends, and Sans was slowly becoming their friend as well. They got his number before they left.
The four got into Marygrace's truck, turned on the radio, and made their ways back to the apartments, singing and dancing all the way. When the group arrived back at the apartments, they smiled and made their way up the stairs, seeing as the elevator was under maintenance. Harley spoke when they reached the doors.
"Want to have a sleepover?"
