Ares' Point Of View
(First Person)

"Ares, hurry up! It's going to be your first day in Senior High School! C'mon son, I don't want you to be late on your very first day!"

Shit.
First day of Senior High School and Ares, you're still here laying down on the bed with your underwear on.

What crap, myself. Now mom's going to get mad and explode like a bomb.

I sighed and quickly placed all my school materials inside my bag, placed on some 'new' clothes and perfumed myself with Axe so that mom won't notice how smelly I really am.

"Just a second, ma. Ok, I comin' down now", I yelled out as I zipped my jeans.

As I went down the stairs, I see mom looking at me with an unexpressed face. What was she thinking about this time?

Ever since I was a tiny baby, my mother was always stiff and thinking deeply whenever she looks at me. She looks at me as if I was so scary or frightening. Sometimes, I'd ask her what the heck is going on with her but she 'd always give me this sarcastic look and just laugh about it.

Sighing again once more, I took a step closer to mom and asked,

"Mom. Hey ma, are you alright?"

In a blink of an eye, she removed whatever she was thinking about and smiled at me.

" Yes Ares? Oh, yes I'm fine. It's just that I am worried about your first day in senior high school", she murmured.

"Mom, everything's going to be alright! Trust me! I've survived elementary and junior high school, so I know I can survive senior high school as well. Believe me ma. Once I finish my studies, I'll be a professional doctor in no time!" I said with a hint of confidence.

"Aww ... that's so sweet of you, Ares. Now, you better hurry up eating your vegetable pasta! I don't want my son to starve to death at school"

As mom placed the vegetable pasta on the table, I laughed sarcastically and looked at her with a hint of annoyance.

16 years yet I never ever tried tasting meat. Not even a tiny piece. Well, I nearly ate one but when mother saw it, she literally freaked out and scolded me in front of my friends, which actually pissed me off.

I sighed and forced myself to gulp down the disgusting vegetable down my throat. However, I placed down my fork and asked mom a question that I wished I shouldn't have asked.

"Mom, it's been 16 years. Ever since I was young you kept on feeding me healthy vegetables, pasta and so on and I really appreciate it. But, why are you not allowing me to eat meat? I mean, I have no allergies with meat, so why aren't you letting me eat some?" I began to laugh as I looked at the leafy vegetable.

Disgusting little things, I thought.

Mom suddenly panicked and nearly fell onto the ground. Anxiety and curiosity fills me up as I stare at her, waiting for her answer.

"W-w-well it's because I don't want you to end up like a cannibal", she suddenly blurted out.

Here we go again.
