Chapter 5

******

I wake up to the sound if water running and an unfamiliar room. At least, I think I'm awake... I quickly sit up and look around at my surroundings.

Can I see the walls? Check.

Is the room black? Nope.

Is there a tiger-dragon named Bambi?

Nope.

Is there a bed that looks like it can fit many people? Check.

Is there a creepy perverted guy trying to spank me? Thank the gods no!

Is there an insanely beautiful guy staring at me? Check... He looks a bit familiar...

Really Ali, get some survival instincts! You are in a strange room with a man who could be a serial killer for all you know!

Gods, I know that brain! Geez, I may be blond, but I'm not that dumb!

Really? I can name a few things that proves otherwise. Like that time where you thought it would be a good idea to try and tame that bear. Or that time you looked up po-

"Hmm, I see your up now." My mental fight with myself screeches to a full on stop and I look at the stranger. I've heard that voice somewhere before. Bored with an undercurrent of concern.

"Do I know you?" I bluntly ask. He wrinkles his nose and gives me a hard stare.

"I should think so, since I'm the one who saved your life."

I try to remember anything, before the freaky dream occurred.

All I get at first is darkness. I try to dig deeper, but the darkness shadows over the memories. Then, a fist is speeding towards my face.

I jerk away, trying to avoid the fist and sprawled on the floor. The one memory bringing light upon the shadows shrouding my memories. One after another entering my head like a train wreck, flooding me with Stan's betrayal, the pain he caused, and my mother. Wait, where's my mother!

I glare at the man, oh wait, pointed ears. Let me start over on that.

Ahem, I glare at the Fae.

"Where the hells is my mother?! What did you do to her, I swear if anything is wrong with here I will... I will... I will let you know when I think of something?"

He gives me a look. "Are you done yet, human?" He asks. I scowl at him, bit nod. "Good, now let me tell you something."

He pushes off the wall and stalks towards me, taking one step for every scoot back I take until I hit the wall. I draw my knees closer as he stops in front of me and couches down till my eyes are level with his chest. A very toned chest, might I add. His unnaturally long fingers tilt my head so I could look into his sunset eyes.

"I will tell you this once, and once only. Do not ever threaten a High Lord in his own home, you insignificant being. To do so is treason, and unless you are of the same status, can result in very painful punishments. Do I make myself clear." He continues when he sees my stunned nod. "As for your mother, you insult me by thinking I'd hurt my So- My servant's mother," He growls at me, and I cower away from him in fear. What? You would too, don't lie. He's scary! "She is safe at a HDBF base in a disclosed facility."

I give him a confused look. HDBF, or Humans Deceived By Fae, was a place where humans who were, well, deceived by Fae. They helped humans get back on their feet, because most of the time, the Fae takes everything good in your life and leaves you an empty shell of what you once where.

But as far as I know, no Fae has ever stepped within ten feet of our house. I mean, sure there where charms and such to keep them out. Charms strong enough that only really powerful Fae can get in. But no one ever came over. Stan, Mom, and me were the only ones ever in there.

Oh, oh my.

"It was Stan?" That nasty, slimy guy, who didn't know the first thing about being sober? That Stan? I can't see him being any sort of Fae.

"Yes, that Stan. And that Stan happens to be the King's newest Chosen. Technically Stan's name is A'keali and She is a very powerful Willow 'O Wisp."

A Chosen is like a Soul Mate too the Fae, but unlike the Soul Mate, which is chosen by the Fae's gods, the Chosen is chosen by the Fae if their mate is killed and they need a permanent... replacement, so to speak.

And ya know those fore mentioned lights in the woods? And how you don't follow them? Those are Wisps. They are very dangerous; they make you see what you wish to see, and are some of the greatest deceivers in the 8 realms.

OH WAIT! "STAN IS A CHICK! AND SHE WAS FUCKING MY MOTHER!" I think I'm gonna puke! He- I mean, she, was so gross. Eck, I get the creeps just thinking about that.

"Watch your language!" He thunders. "I do not tolerate any kind of foul language in my home from anyone, and you, Alistair, are no exception."

Hmm, how does this dude know my name. That's not creepy at all... I don't even know his name! Talk about unfair stalker rights!

"How the hells do you know my name, I don't even know your name and yet you know my name! That's creepy and not fair! You are a fucking pervert and probably stalked me for gods know how long! Which, again, is not fair, I didn't get to stalk you and know every-fucking-thing about you!" I run to the door to get away from the beautiful, yet creepy and perverted, man.

A gust of wind forces the doors closed and slams my back against them.

He strides up to me. And damn if he's not mad. Oooooohh, he said something about not cussing didn't he...well that's a bit of a problem, seeing that I said 2 of them.

Oh lord please don't let this turn out like the dream! Oh, anything but that!

A tear makes its way down my cheek, until a finger catches it. I look up at the man. He study's the little droplet like it might hold the mysteries of the universe. He brings it to his sculpt lip, his tongue peeks out. Looking me in the eye, he licks the tear from his finger.

My face is tomato red. That was so ho- WEIRD! It was weird, it most definitely wasn't the hottest thing I've ever seen. Nope.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that.

Oh shut up, it wasn't! It was weird! Who goes around licking other people's tears! That is weird!

Me think the lady- ahem, sorry, man, doth protest to much

Shut up you- you stupid jerk!

I struggle against the invisible restraints, trying to shrink away from him. No cigar. Instead they constrict, as if scolding me. It seems that my being scolded is becoming a regular thing.

"Shu," he says, breaking the tense silence.

"Um... Ok, I'd give you my shoe, but... uh... I'm kind stuck... So if you could just let me down?" The angry glint in his eyes fades to amusement.

He tilts my head to face him. "My name is Shu, S-H-U. Not the footwear shoe. I am the High Lord of the Autumn Court and Master of the Winds. I am one of the 7 'brothers' who rule the 7 segments of Nether."

A finger trails to my lips, outlining them, before the hand rests gently on my cheek.

My eyes start to flutter shut at the enticing movements. That is, until I hear the next thing he says-

"And you, servant, are a long debt paid in full. You belong to me, and will obey me like the sheep you are."

My eyes snap open at this and I see red. I'd felt like there was something fishy going on. Something about the conversation seemed off and now I know what it is.
