It's 2AM and I'm having an in-depth conversation with Audrey. After getting home and recounting my woes to her she prompted a sleep over that I gratefully accepted.
I'm well aware James is her neighbor but it's not like he's gonna come over so why not? Its a Friday after all. Well, I guess Saturday now.
"Still no word from Josh?" Audrey asks.
"No, I'm getting worried, why is he so mad?" I ask, falling backward to gaze at the ceiling from the sectional in her basement.
"Did you text him?" she asks. I nod. "Call?" I nod. "Call his house?"
"His little brother Mason picked up, said Josh was out." I sigh.
"Well Josh was most effected of us all, he's known you longest and probably feels like he's watched you date James Spencer on his watch." Audrey says sympathetically.
"I wasn't going on a date! I was working with him, against my will I might add, it's not like we jumped on his bike and made out while riding into the sunset!" I cry.
"I know that but he doesn't!" Audrey replies.
"How mad were you?" I ask tentatively, rolling over to face her.
Audrey bites her lip, "Pretty mad, but I understand."
"I'm sorry." I say.
"You've said that already." Audrey comments.
"Yeah but I feel like a jerk." I reply unhappily.
"No one wearing spotted pajama pants is a jerk!" Audrey jokes. I sigh. "Hey," she says, "you're not a jerk, you're my friend, and I don't befriend jerks."
"Thanks." I mumble as she pulls me in for a hug.
"Hey, if it makes you feel better I think Clara was more jealous then angry." Audrey laughs.
I join her, a weight lifted off my shoulders now that I feel like I've actually apologized. I stare at my phone then shove it into my bag. Josh will text, it's just to late. If Audrey says so it'll happen, he'll forgive me.

"Brooklyn nine nine or Parcs and Rec?" Audrey asks perkily.
I rub sleep from my eyes, "Brooklyn nine nine." I smile, it's my favorite.
"My mom brought food." Audrey adds like it's not obvious she's clutching a pancake. Still, they're still warm so I grab the chocolate chip pancake, once again, my favorite.
We get half way through Brooklyn nine nine when Audrey's mom's voice comes down the stairs, "Girls, a friend is here, they're coming down!"
Audrey sighed, her mother loves surprises, "Clara?" she guessed in a 'duh' voice.
But I could already see it wasn't. "Josh!" I screech. I run halfway up the stairs and crash into him. He must be 7 inches taller than me but I entrap him in a bear hug.
I finally look up at him. Up close you realize that his eyes aren't just brown, they're a warm chocolate color.
"Sorry." We both say at once. Audrey giggles behinds us and Josh scowls.
"Revenge." he whispers in my ear. I'm momentarily confused until he sweeps me up in a fire mans carry.
I squeal and hug his back so as not to bang my head on the stairs. He throws me down on the couch and I just barely move over before he's jumped down too.

The idiocy of perfection
RomanceSo, this is a totally cliché romance novel that I just needed to get out of my system, and maybe gain a few viewers in the process. I'm well aware this idea is old and worn out but I'll try to make it interesting anyway. It's about a girl named Tayl...
