Katie had been stalking all of Matt's social media to check what's happening because he stopped texting her back which Katie could understand why he might want a few days to grieve and recover from texting Amy a very well deserved break up text... even though Katie felt heartbroken to see Matt this way she also felt quite happy in a way that Matt no longer had a girlfriend and she could get close to him again. Katie had noticed that he deleted every single picture off his Instagram and had been posting on his snapchat everyday a picture of him watching movies in bed.
LATER THAT AFTERNOON:
Katie was just lying on the couch in her flat when her phone buzzed, she was extremely excited because it was Matt, the text just said " I'm ready to talk" and Katie replied " ok I'm glad, pizza, beer and movies at mine ?"
"Cool I'll be there in 15" Matt quickly text back.
Katie was so thrilled she squealed until she realised she had 15 minutes to make her face look presentable.
(15 minutes later)
Katie heard the door bell she rushed over to the door and as soon as she opened it she didn't even say a word she just collapsed into Matt's arms and hugged him and slowly rubbed his back for comfort.
A few hours into the night many beers have been drank and a movie and a half have been watched, Katie needed this night just as much as Matt, it was almost like they had never had time apart as good pals.
