After many weeks of travel, I thought of what a terrible sister I was. Suddenly I heard a familiar voice I turned to the left and didn't recognise anyone I turned to the right and saw Aisha I was so relieved to know that she was safe I shot up like a missile and nearly tipped the boat everyone was angry, but for me there wasn't a worry in the world.

Iheard people screaming we were headed right into a cyclone, the winds howledlike bombs dropping and the waves were strong enough to tip the boat I wasterrified.

How could I look after my sister in the middle of the ocean and worst of all she doesn't know how to swim. We were out at sea for 5 weeks and were slowly running out of water even worse in the distance I saw a dark shadow with a flag as black as night and a skull with bones as white as a ghost someone screamed out "Hooray they have come to rescue us" but I wasn't so sure it was a rescue party I was sure that I had seen that flag before then I had a flashback the night of my parents death men with beards waved that flag then I said aloud "Pirates they are not a rescue team they're pirates quick everyone throw all your belongings into the water" everyone followed my instructions but that didn't change anything.

They were quick to throw there anchors to stop out little wooden boat from floating away then they slid down the ropes screaming violently "give us all that you have and we will not kill you" but it was too late because we had nothing they killed 2 men and threw them overboard and said " well hurry up or that could be you" I quietly squeaked "we have nothing we only have a few bags of uncooked rice and a few bottles of water we are from Iraq and we're going to Australia" angrily they replied "fine instead of killing you we are going to sink your boat good luck making it to Australia.

The pirates then made their way back onto their boat and started singing "you mess with pirates and that's what happens you mess with the rulers of the sea and see what happens". Our boat slowly began to sink the water was as cold as ice and just as Aisha picked up on swimming the temperature of the water was slowly freezing her limbs and she was getting too cold and tired to swim and said to me weakly "Miriam I love you and you are my sister but you must let me go." I was too worried about my sister that every few seconds I would sink by about a centre metre I was slowly drowning. As I swam back to the surface I let go of Aisha and she sank like stones in a cup of water I rushed under the water to grab her and I swam back to the surface and found a floating plank of wood and pulled her up but I felt her skin and It was ice cold and pale white she had stopped breathing and her lips were as blue as the sky, my baby sister had died in my arms and I couldn't do anything to save her.

It was freezing cold and I couldn't stop thinking about Aisha, she was my only family member left after soldiers took my parents and shot them in front of crowds for entertainment. They did it because my parents committed treason in the form of mutiny. What they did was right and no amount of soldiers or punishments could change my mind. They saved hundreds of lives, they were heroes not criminals. As i slowly started to remember that I'm floating in the middle if the ocean I think to myself, how am i going to save these people little own myself.
