"Remus has something he'd like to tell you." You say, then look up at the wide green eyes of your boyfriend. You can feel his heartbeat in his wrist getting faster and harder.
After a few moments of silence, Remus finally spoke in a broken, hushed tone:
"I....I'm a werewolf."-----------------
It had been a couple weeks since the Halloween party, and your parent's were still a little on edge. They hadn't reacted in the worst way possible, and they still really did like Remus, but they were scared. Your dad, being the wizard of your parents, knew a little more than your mom, but still not enough to shake the underlying fear of something bad happening. They just didn't know what to expect and wanted to keep you safe.
So here you were, lying in your bed with the lamp on, staring up at the ceiling with the full moon shining in through your window. The clock read 3:37 A.M.
You wanted so badly to be there with the boys tonight; with Remus, to help him in his biggest time of need, but your parents wouldn't allow it. Not until they'd learned more and felt more comfortable, anyway. You couldn't imagine that they'd ever truly come around, because what parents would? They could never truly understand what Remus went through every full moon, and how much you loved and cared for him regardless. At least they said they'd try though. That meant something. You let out a long sigh, wondering how Remus was doing, finally stopping on trying to fight the insomnia, when you hear a faint noise from outside your window on the front lawn. Your eyes get wide and you jolt up from your bed, rushing to look outside. You see two figures near the front of your lawn, struggling to move forward towards the door. Your heart starts beating faster as you throw on a jacket and rush downstairs out onto the lawn in the chill November air to meet your friends.
"Sirius, what's going on?" You squeak out, trying to recover your breath. Your eyes moving rapidly back and forth between Sirius's to the person he had hanging off his shoulder; Remus.
"He's in really bad shape, (Y/N)." Sirius explains as calmly as he can. "I wouldn't normally do this to you or your parents, but he really needs you right now. I didn't know what else to do."
You start to take deeper breaths as you lean forward to take your boyfriend from Sirius's hold, letting Remus lean against your body to support himself.
"Thank you, Sirius." You say, giving your friend a small smile, which he returns as he apparates away.Carefully, you turn yourself and Remus around to head back towards your house, when your parents come rushing out the front door.
"(Y/N) what's going on?" Your dad asks rapidly, his eyes wide with worry.
"I need to get Remus inside, Dad. He's hurt really bad and I need to help him." You say, never slowing your pace. You didn't care what your parents thought in this moment. You just desperately wanted to get Remus inside, if nothing else.
Much to your surprise, your parents rushed passed you to get the door, then guided the both of you up the stairs into the guest bedroom.-----------------
Remus tossed a little before opening his eyes to see you dressing some of the wounds on his face.
"(Y/N)?" He whispered out, wincing a little at the stinging cloth you pressed against a cut.
"Hey Moons," you say, just as quietly. "Wasn't sure if you'd wake up til morning, but I'm glad you did."
"How...how did I get here, (Y/N/N)?" He looks around, taking in the tidy room. There were fresh sheets on the bed he was lying on, and he had been put into a clean pair of flannel pants and a grey t-shirt. You sat on the edge of the bed next to him with a bottle of alcohol, some bandages, a washcloth, and a basin filled with water.
"Sirius brought you. He said you needed me." You stopped to look into Remus's eyes for a moment. "I'm glad he did, because I was really worried about you. I couldn't sleep myself." You smirked a little, grabbing some more bandages and continuing your work.
"Oh, and the pajamas are an old pair of my dad's." You say, noticing his confusion at the clothes. "They were the best ones I could find."
You put the last bandages on Remus, then push all of the homemade medical kit over to the side of the nightstand.
Looking back to him, you lift your hand up to Remus's face and start to lightly rub your thumb against his cheekbone, where an old scar was. He leaned into your hand, closing his eyes at your touch.
"Remus, I love you so much. You know that right?" You ask.
Remus opens his eyes, and looks directly into yours, never wavering eye contact. He doesn't say anything, but lets the moment hang for a moment. Silent tears start to fall from your teary (E/C) eyes, making Remus put his hands up to both sides of your face, wiping them away with his thumbs. He brushes a strand of hair away from your face, then leans in, placing a kiss on you forehead. He rests his forehead against your own, making the both of you close your eyes.
"I love you too." He whispers, before pressing his lips to yours. The kiss was soft, but at the same time, it expressed the longing the both of you felt for each other.
You broke away and looked into Remus's deep, foresty eyes, wanting nothing more than to just get lost in them.
"I'm going to stay in here with you, okay?" You say, running your fingers through his messy caramel hair.
"I'd want nothing more." Remus replies with a tired smile.
Not bothering to get underneath the warm covers with him, you lay yourself down next to Remus, placing your face in the crook of his neck and your arm across his chest, nuzzling him as close as you could. You could feel his arm slowly move to be around your shoulders, then his fingers moving softly through your (H/C) hair. He placed a small kiss on your head before you fell asleep.-----------------
"I've got more blankets if you -" Your dad started, pushing open the door to the guest room all the way. Your mom was behind him with more supplies, if needed. For a moment, your parents just looked at you and Remus together. The two of you holding each other close, with you almost laying on top of him. Protecting him. Your mom finally broke the silence, "They need each other, don't they?"
Your dad walked slowly into the room, over to the nightstand.
"Yeah, they really do." He smiled down at you, and felt a tug at his heart. He didn't need to worry about you, because Remus would never hurt you; and you were always going to be there to help him recover and care for him when he needed it.
"Come on dear, let's let them get some much needed rest." Your dad said to your mom as he turned off the light and they left the room, closing the door behind them.
