Chapter 18

After the Family Gum War, we were cleaning up the wreckage, which was a lot, the treehouse had been destroyed, Simon lost Betty, Finn lost Fern, and the treehouse. The Candy Kingdom was in harmony again, all of Ooo was actually, and it was peaceful for once. Finn was having a hard time adjusting to the fact that Fern was actually gone this time, also, he went through some trauma. I didn't really like to think about it, but it was hard when it was staring me in the face, Finn had lost his arm during the war. I didn't really know what to say to him about it, he wasn't upset, but he wasn't necessarily happy either though. Finn didn't give the loving kisses he used to give, we didn't have sex anymore, the only emotion I saw from him was frustration. Bonnie has made a robot arm for him, so he had to learn how to do everything with the new arm.

I was sitting home cleaning, Finn had been gone all day, doing some rehabilitation, and training with his arm. When we came home, he seemed different somehow, his face was brighter, his eyes bluer, but of course his skin was still pale.

"Hey babe, what's up?" I said a little cheery.

"Nothing, just a better day today is all." He shrugged sitting on the couch.

"Oh that's good." I said simply as I finished up dishes.

"Come sit with me." Finn said simply, patting the cushion next to him. I went and sat next to him, he pulled me into his side, a warm feeling between us.

"What's going on?" I asked a little confused.

"Just wanted to sit with you is all, I've missed you." Finn said quietly.

"I missed you too." I smiled lightly at him.

"I know things haven't been the same, since, this." He raised his mechanical arm." I think I'm ready for things to be back to normal now."

"Same." I sighed heavily. Finn bringing his lips to mine gently, before pulling away, his thumb brushing my chin.

"I'm sorry for the way things were, the way I talked to you, and didn't talk to you." Finn apologized.

"Hey, what does it matter I'm still here." I grabbed his face, looking at him sincerely." There's something I wanted to talk to you about." I said nervously.

"What is it?" Finn asked.

"It's about Simon, he can't live in the Ice Kingdom anymore, he has no place to stay." I mentioned.

"Yeah?" Finn looked at me nervously.

"Would it be okay if Simon lived here, I'm his only family." I said trying to guilt him.

"With us, or...?" Finn waited for my answer.

"Well we cant move to treehouse can we?" I reminded, feeling a pang in my chest for saying it the way I did." Sorry, you know what I mean."

"I don't know?" Finn rubbed his neck.

"Look he isn't the same old Ice King, Simon is different." I explained." You'll like him. Also he's coming over tonight." I said quickly as I got up from the couch.

"What?" Finn stood up a little irritated." Did you already tell him he could stay?"

"No, I just said he could spend the night here. Finn he's been sleeping in the Candy Kingdom, in one of those little huts, Bonnie didn't make it very accommodating for him." I grumbled.

"Ugh, I just wish you would've talked to me sooner is all." Finn rubbed his face.

"Well look, I was thinking about finding a trailer for him, you know one of those mobile homes, that we could park in the cave." I smiled at Finn trying to reassure him.
