"You stupid boy! You are so weak! Get up! Fight me! You will never surpass All Might at this rate! Pathetic! Just because your quirk hasn't presented yet doesn't mean you can't train you pathetic brat!" Shouto Todoroki's father yelled at him as he retched on the floor after a particularly hard punch, tears ran down his face as he tried to stop his stomach heaving.

"Stop it! He's had enough Father! Leave him be!" His older sister Fuyumi cried, rushing to her brothers aid after hearing the screaming, "You insolent girl! He is to surpass All MIght and at this rate he isn't going to! You have no say in this!" His father roared, Fuyumi mumbled something back but he didn't hear it, his consciousness was fading and everything went black.

He turned his head to look at her "It hurts Fuyumi-nee." He whispered, she put a cool hand on his head and smoothed his hair back.

"I know it does but we have to bear it." She sighed "Or I will have to bear it, Shouto I am going to give you this chance to go, run away, as far as you can from this place, you are only young and father will only hurt you more...I've lived here for 17 years and every day in my life with him is misery, you Touya and Natsuo are the only reasons I'm living, but this isn't about my happiness its yours, you can still get away while you have the chance."

Shouto stared at her with a scared expression "L-leave? B-but what if father finds me? I-I can't leave you, I'm scared." He trembled and Fuyumi hugged him.

"I know its scary Shouto, we have to be strong, I don't want you to end up like father, you have already been scarred enough." She stroked the scar over his eye "I can bear you being abused like you have been, I know you want to leave, I will still be here, I will stay here for as long as I can, just in case you decide to come back, this seems so sudden and hurried I know but this is a chance for you to go and live a good life, without this abusive household." She didn't want to let him go but she had to, it was the best option for him.

Shouto pulled away from the hug and looked around his room, there wasn't anything he liked enough to keep, his father forbade him to form an attachment to anything material "Fuyumi-nee I love you and I promise I will live a good life for you." He whispered, his window was ajar already, cool air softly blowing in from the outside.

"I love you too Shouto, and whatever you do do not let anyone know your last name." Fuyumi replied and watched as her youngest brother climbed out through the window and slipped into the night.

Shouto panted as he ran from the window, he ran and ran for hours not knowing where he was going, he had to get far, far away.

He soon collapsed in a secluded alleyway too exhausted to run any further, he shivered and pulled his jacket tighter around him, it was a cold night and he had nowhere to go, he couldn't go back home he knew that but he had no other place to go either, he had no idea where he was.

Shouto buried his face in his arms and started to sob, he was so alone and he was now so grateful for what he used to have, a roof over his head, food in his stomach and a comfy bed, he had none of those things now.

A purple black mist suddenly appeared in the area, two men walked out of it one made up of the same mist and the other a tall, thin man with crimson eyes and light blue hair who looked about the same age as his sister, they both looked startled to see him.

Shouto stared up at them both obviously scared. The man with the light blue hair crouched down in front of him "Hey kid, what are you doing out here? This is a dangerous place at night, why don't you run along home." He said in a rough and scratchy voice.

"I don't have a home..." Shouto whispered "I had to escape...father would have nearly killed me if I didn't."

The man frowned "That's terrible, I'm Tomura Shigaraki and this is Kurogiri, whats your name?" He said looking concerned.

A little happiness bloomed in his chest, someone cared "Shouto Todoroki." He replied forgetting the warning his sister gave him.

Both of the other men seemed a bit surprised by that and Tomura smiled "Why don't you come live with us? I can see you need a home and I'd be happy to have you."

Shouto smiled and a few tears gathered at the corners of his eyes "R-really? You mean that?" Tomura nodded and held out his hand to the younger boy, being careful not to touch him with all of his fingers.

Shouto stood up holding on to Tomura's hand tightly, he was so happy that he had a home again.

Kurogiri opened what was later explained to be a warp gate and all three of them stepped through it, going home.
