Nandini has been waiting for her prince charming for a long time now. All her relatives are bad mouthing her as she’s getting older n it is a sin to remain unmarried...so they all are trying to save her from committing this huge sin (note the sarcasm)....but she remained determined...at last her mom gave her 6 months to find him n if she isn't able to find him in these 6 months then she has to marry the guy of her choice. N here she is in her new bedroom waiting for her husband on the 1st night of their married life. Nandini decided to tell him about her prince charming. She was very nervous as she didnt know how her husband would react….she didn't meet her husband during the rituals coz per their customs the groom sees the brides face on their 1st night….
though her mom wanted her to talk to the guy before their marriage but Nandini refused to meet him. Yes Nandini had to marry the guy of her mothers choice as she couldn't find her prince charming. Nandini was brought out of her trance when she heard her husband clearing her throat.
N(Nandini): (without looking at him) Well before starting our new life I wanted to confess something….
M(Manik): (sitting beside her) Sure go ahead….
N: I had some1 in my life….we were childhood sweethearts….he was my Prince Charming n I was his Princess (chuckling)....we were together from nursery…..till 10th….his family shifted from here….after that we lost contact
….he gave me this promise ring (showing the ring on her ring finger)….saying he’d be back with the other half of this heart….I kept waiting for him all these year….I’d have waited for him all my life….but you know nothing works before your moms...so here I’m starting my new life with you….I won't promise to love you….I won't promise you forget him….coz that is just not possible….but I’m promising you to become a dutiful wife towards you….that is all I wanted to say…..
M: Well….I have this with me quite a sometimes now say….last 12 years….I want to give you this….may I have your hand please... (Nandini forwarded her hand n he slid the ring into her ring finger….Nandini took her hand back uninterestedly...
neither she looked at the ting nor towards her husband)
M: Princess if not towards me at least look at the ring I gave you….
Nandini was a bit startled with his nickname as she gave him the right to call her that only….she looked at the ring yo notice that it was the missing half of the heart…..
N: Manik….
M: Yes your very own Prince Charming the 1 n only Manik Malhotra….(Nandini literally jumped on him n hugged him to her dear life) Reh….princess have mercy on this poor soul…(she punched his shoulder playfully) told you nah….I’ll be back with the other half of this heart….see I’m here….yes he was back for her after 12 long years n this time forever.
