"Those vampires are bad guys then! They hurt people for no reason at all!"

"Haha Adina are you scared of vampires now? Do you hate them?"

"Yes! I hate them all! They are monsters!"

"Adina... did you hear about the man who kidnaps little children like you and do very bad things to them?"

"Uhu teachers wouldn't let us go home alone. They said the man is very dangerous so we need an adult to protect us."

"Do you hate him?"

"Of course! He's a very bad guy I hate him!"

"You said you hate all vampires... so do you hate all humans now? Because of that one man?"

"..."

"You see, vampires or humans, you will always meet the bad ones, and meet the good ones. It's you who should be smart enough to know who is bad, and who is good."

"Ah... So, in the future, when I meet a nice vampire, will he play with me? I wonder if he can fly us all the way to the moon... We can be all alone there and do whatever we want!!!"

"Silly child"

-

*knock knock*

I jerked up glaring at the door for disturbing my very rare dream of my late night stories with my father.

"Come in" I stared at the door open as a group of maids stormed in.

In a second my room was crowded as maids were stacking bags on top of others in different colors and sizes and walked away not sparing me a glance nor a word.

"What the..."

Eyeballing the numerous bags that were now invading my room, my mouth opened in shock realizing what they are.

Famous brands from Dior to Gucci to Saint-Laurent were written on the shopping bags. I hurried and picked the first bag in front of me. I delicately touched the soft yellow summery dress inside it. I glanced at the other bags that had makeup, shoes, accessories and clothes baffled.

Aouss's face flashed in front of my eyes. I put my slippers on and headed to his room straight away.

"A-Adina... What are you doing here?" Khaled's eyes widened as soon as he spotted me.

"Is Aouss inside?"

"Yes but... You're not thinking of going in, are you?"

"I just want to ask him something" My eyes were fixated on the door and I was not going to take no for an answer. I had so many questions buzzing in my head, many suspicions and the one with the answers was just behind that door.

Khaled saw my determination and just stepped aside opening the door for me. I stared at him questioningly and he just chuckled.

"He's a vampire, he already knows you're here. If he was against you coming in he wouldn't have unlocked the door the second you turned that corner"

"Oh..."

I took slow steps inside the dark room, my eyes scanning the place. I was only a couple of steps inside when the door slammed shut behind me engulfing me in total darkness.

My breath started to become heavier as I tried to focus on my hearing. Very silent steps were coming my way, the sound of the fabric's friction against each other whenever the person moved made it easy for me to spot their location.

I turned my head calmly and just stared at where the sounds were coming from.

"Can you see me?" Aouss's voice was just a whisper

"No. I can hear you moving."

Silence steeled in and I could feel a gush of wind next to me. I instinctively followed it and avoided it as the person stood right next to me. Again, he moved but I was following his every movement. He picked up his speed moving around the room but somehow no matter how fast he ran my head just followed in his direction until the light was suddenly turned on. I closed my eyes shut feeling a sting from the sudden light and wiped some of the moister that started forming at the side before slowly and carefully opening them again.

"What are you doing?" My words sounded harsher than I intended them to be. Aouss's eyes twinkled again with interest but he soon hid it.

"What are you? A bat?" Pouring himself a glass of wine, he sat on a couch and just stared at me.

"Thank you for the compliment. What is all that, in my room?" After what happened earlier today, all of my defences were up. Having witnessed how powerful this lord was, I felt like from now on, I had to be ready to die whenever I meet him.

Aouss gently put his wine glass down and just stared at me.

"A gift. An apology. Making sure my personal maid looks presentable... self satisfaction?" standing up, the light turned off again.

"Whatever makes you accept them, just take that as your reply. Go." His voice was soft but carried a hint of command. Feeling I have lost my chance to ask any more questions, I obediently left the room.

I felt irritated. When faced with this young lord nothing seemed to go my way. He had full control over each and every situation and I really started to hate that.

Walking towards the mansions front door, I stared at the few steps distancing me from my freedom. In the darkness of the night, I could feel a couple of guards move anxiously. Why are they hesitating? If I even dare to take one step down, all they have to do is kill me.

Laughing at my own fate, I turned away tiredly carrying myself back to my room.

I sighed and was about to turn the lights on.

"Who is it?" My eyes scanned the room but could only hear the sound of someone playing with the shopping bags.

"Interesting" The woman's voice was followed by a mocking laugh and just disappeared.

My hands just hang there before deciding to move again towards the light switch.

My eyebrows knotted taking in the mess in front of me. All the bags were emptied. Some things were broken while others just completely destroyed.

What is this now?
