The sunlight shone in through the closed window, lighting up the room. The bed was dented with the weight of the girl's body. She was covered by her blanket, like a swaddled baby. Only the ends of her blonde hair peeking out from the top of the blanket.

She had been up all night, fretting over what the morning would bring. She was terrified, hoping that she wouldn't wake up the next day. November 8, 2017, the day had been marked on her calendar for months, having been put there almost a year ago.

The alarm clock's loud ringing spread across the room, right into the girl's ears, causing her to groan and slam her hand down on the snooze button. Maybe if she didn't acknowledge what day it was then she wouldn't have to deal with it.

But of course, fate just happens to love working against her. The alarm clock released its loud shrill-like noise again, causing the girl to sit up in bed, picking up the object and throwing it across the room, breaking it.

She pulled the covers off of her body, revealing her sweatpants and sweatshirt she had fallen asleep in. She walked out of her bedroom, letting the door slam behind her, alerting the other inhabitants of the house that she was awake.

She walked straight to the kitchen, not bothering to dress first, not really wanting to. She entered the kitchen, opening the cabinet door and grabbing some cereal, Cheerios and poured some into a bowl her mom had left for her.

She then opened the fridge door, grabbing the milk and pouring some in the bowl, then putting the cap back on and closing the fridge door. She opened the bottom drawer, grabbing a spoon, and eating some cereal, sitting down at the table with the rest of her family.

She could hear them talking around her, but she didn't acknowledge them, just continuing to eat her cereal. When finished she pushed back her chair and left the bowl in the sink. The worried gazes of her family following behind her.

She walked into her bedroom, opening the doors of her closet and looking for an outfit, one that wouldn't reveal how miserable she was but also "I defiantly didn't miss you at all". She settled with a pair of dark jeans and a navy sweater.

She took off her sweatpants first, pulling the jeans on and buttoning them. She then took off her sweatshirt, replacing it with the nicer sweater, she then grabbed a pair of white sneakers, putting on socks and then the shoes.

She walked out of her room, right into her bathroom. She looked in the mirror, her tired face showing in the reflection of the mirror. She applied some concealer and a rosy red blush to hide her despair.

She decided to leave her hair down, brushing it before brushing her teeth. She looked away from herself and walked out. Grabbing her phone from the nightstand and walking downstairs, she grabbed her backpack and opened the door, walking out.
