Everything is so blurry...

Why?

What caused me to be like this?

"...We can't save her, I'm sorry."

Voices. They're playing in my head. Who were they?

"You have to! She's my child!"

"I'm sorry, King. There's just nothing we can do. She's blind."

Blind? What was that?

I tried to turn my foggy gaze to the direction of the voices, to no avail. Everything was a soft, uniform Grey. I'm small. I tried to call out to the voices, but it just came out as a shrill shriek.

"We need to get rid of the impurities."

What were these people saying? I don't understand...

I could hear footsteps as the person walked away, the other staying behind, sobbing. I would continue to whine, nobody there to comfort me. A while later, the man finally returned. I could hear his footsteps as he approached the place I was laying in, only being able to see the faintest of outlines of something curved.

Suddenly, a sharp pain. A warm liquid rushing out of my socket as the faint vision I had began to become displaced, a fracture going down the middle as my eye began to come out of my head. After too much later, the left side of my vision flickered off, now becoming a pitch black. I whined out with all of my frail might, the pain being unbearable.

My right eye would follow suit later as well, the cords that connected my eyes to my head being severed as blood gushed out of my sockets. I soon felt an odd cloth wrapping around my head, tying up right at the bridge of my nose as the cloth sucked my blood away as it came. Cold and dried tears and blood could be felt on my cheeks, them being stained with the Redness of my blood. A vibrant Red, that I'd never see...

"We will need these for further testing."

The man took my eyes, walking off once again with them. The one who stole my eyes. the supposed 'King' continued to sob off in the distance, unable to see him. I could feel the uncomfortable surface, taste the metallic blood, smell it's odd smell, and hear the sobs of my Father.

And yet, I couldn't see.

What has this world cursed me with?

"I am so sorry.."

The man returned later, along with someone else, as I could hear an extra pair of footsteps.

"She barely managed to survive."

I would grope and pull on the tight bonds that held my eyelids shut and prevented the bleeding, wanting to feel my eyes in their rightful place once again. I had managed to get off the tie, and stuck my hand into my socket.

There wasn't anything there, and the bleeding picked up once again. Yelling ensued in reaction to my realization, and before I could hear any more, everything drew a blank.
