Every day is exactly the same. Wake up, work, and sleep. Nothing ever changes, that is until now.
Have you ever had a dream about nothing? Just the last thing you remember was falling asleep? There is no sound, no joy, just nothing. The sound of a blaring alarm in the background startled Jerry "Just five more minutes," he pleaded. But the relentless beeping had other plans. "You win," came a hoarse voice. He glanced over at the clock as his eyes glazed over the illuminated numbers signaling that it was 3 am.
'Today is just another yesterday' he thought. "Daddy," whimpered a sleep deprived child.
"Oh come here Danny. Did you have another bad dream?" The boy nodded his head and quickly came to snuggle with his father.
The little boy ceased to cry knowing that his father would be there even when his mother could never be. "Are you going to see the bad man today?" Danny looked up at his weak hearted father. "No," was all he could say. 'I must seem like an awful parent, 23 alone and responsible for a 6 year old' all Jerry could hear was how much of a terrible father he had been.
Danny and Jerry spent what felt like hours in each other's embrace neither one of them dare say a word and break the comfortable silence that clung to the air around them. Until the phone rang. Danny had fallen asleep so all Jerry had to do was quickly but carefully sneak away from the heap of six year old twisted in bed sheets. The older male grabbed his phone and hustled out of the room.
The bright light emanating from his phone made him flinch. When his eyes had adjusted he acknowledged the caller ID. A quick and silent sigh escaped his lips.
"I'm sorry I'm late, there was some issues at home," Jerry said as calmly as he could.
"Jerry I don't care about your shit or anyone else's shit. You better be here within the next 30 minutes or else your fired! Your client is very unhappy," bellowed his boss.
"Shit," Jerry said aloud.
As quickly as he could he called his mother. He waited impatiently for her to arrive.
Jerry wasn't proud of what he does but it paid the bills and put food on the table.
After a few minutes of biting his nails there was a knock on the door. "Oh thank god your here mom," Jerry frowned.
"Go get to work I've got Danny and I'll get him ready for school too,"
"Thanks Mom," Jerry kissed the woman's cheek and sprinted to his car.
With that behind him, he rushed to work.
Look I know this isn't very good but it is what it is. If you want your OC in the story tell me what they should be doing send me a picture and of course their name. Later Smutters ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
