Your hands were sweating and no matter how desperately you tried to dry them off on your pants, it just kept getting worse. It was going to be David's turn soon, you knew from the way Jason kept glancing over at him with an evil smirk. David was just as nervous as you but you figured it was for a different reason.

Jason had decided that it would be a fun idea to get everyone in the squad to take a lie detector test and you had been excited about the idea at the time but now you weren't as much because it had hit you twenty minutes before coming to the house that Jason – or someone – was going to ask you about your feelings for David. And you wouldn't even be able to get mad at them since you had technically given them permission to expose you soon in a spur of the moment confidence boost. You weren't feeling that confidence anymore, to say the least.

"Okay, David, your turn." Jason announced, grabbing his notebook full of questions. You regretted not trying to take a look at the book before everyone else had arrived earlier. Maybe you wouldn't have been so damn nervous.
David handed his camera to you to record his lie detector session and you gladly took it, holding it calmly on his face, dramatically zooming in jokingly on his clearly worried expressions.
By the time that his part was over, you felt a little bit calmer. Nobody had asked him if he had feelings for you, so maybe no one would ask you if you had feelings for him.
He took his camera back from you and took a seat on the couch next to you again and you felt your heartbeat start to go back to its normal pace. And then you heard Jason call your name. "Y/N, your turn."
You had to fight the urge to grab David's hand right then and there. You took a deep breath – hoping it came off more as a joke than as genuine terror – and slowly walked over to the chair.

"Y/N looks the most nervous!" Zane pointed out jokingly, causing everyone to laugh. You laughed along with them even though you hadn't found it nearly as entertaining as everyone else.
Jason flipped to the next page in his question book and looked back up at you. "Okay. Is your name Y/N?"
You stalled for a minute, making sure you could get as calm as possible before answering. "Yes."
Everyone waited until John, the lie detector test guy, replied with the results, "True."
It carried on smoothly for the most part, everyone asking you questions like 'Have you fantasized about _?' and you would reply honestly. And then the dreaded question came up, making your heart drop before you even answered. Corinna leaned forward in her seat, "Wait, can I ask a question?" She looked at you with the smirk you knew was an evil one. "Y/N, are you in love with David?"
The whole room fell silent and you immediately looked over at David who was looking at you like he was terrified of your answer even though he was trying really hard not to show it. "No." You tried to keep everything the same, hoping to cheat the test. Everyone waited anxiously for the results and then.... "That's a lie." The man said and everything stopped being so silent. The room filled with your friends exclaiming that 'they knew it'. Your eyes hadn't left David's. He had the blankest expression on his face and you wished he would show some kind of expression so you could know what he was thinking right about now. Once it all quieted down a little bit you suddenly felt yourself begin to tear up. "Can I please get out of this thing now?" You didn't wait for an answer though, already beginning to tear the things that were hooked up to you off of yourself. You left the room and went to Todd's bedroom which was kind of yours too – not because there was anything between the two of you, you were just close and half of your stuff had ended up there anyway.
You locked the door behind you and threw yourself on his bed like a little girl who had just gotten her heart broken for the first time – but that was just the thing, you didn't give him time to break your heart. You were just humiliated more than anything.

It wasn't long before you heard a soft knock on the door but you didn't say anything. You really didn't want anybody to hear your voice as weak as you knew it was, you already felt pathetic enough. There was another knock on the door before whoever it was finally spoke up, "Hey, Y/N? Can we come in, please?" It was Corinna and... "Yeah, it's just the two of us." Todd.
Instead of speaking you got up and shuffled your feet across the floor to get to the door, unlocking and opening it while trying to dry whatever tears you had on your cheeks. By the way they were looking at you; you knew Corinna regretted what she had done. But you weren't mad at her...she was your best friend. You knew that she did it because she cared and hated seeing you live in a world of secrecy from David. "Oh...I'm sorry. You probably want your room back. I'll leave." You began to walk out of the room, towards the bathroom but Todd set his hand on your shoulder to stop you.
"David is still here." He spoke so softly but it wasn't technically a whisper. "Once you left, he went to the bathroom. He looked terrified."
You only nodded and began walking again, hoping he was still in the bathroom. No matter how terrified you were, you knew you needed to talk about it now that the cat was out of the bag.
Once you made it to the bathroom you noticed that the door was closed. You didn't allow yourself to think twice before knocking. "David?..." Your voice was slowly recovering from crying, you wouldn't allow yourself to cry again until after you talked to him.
You heard the faucet turn on and then turn back off, and then the door opened. "Hi," he greeted you with a weaker voice than usual, like he had just gotten the air knocked out of him.
The two of you just stood in silence, not breaking eye contact. Almost like you believed you could communicate that way and it was times like these that made you wish you could. "Look...what happened back there"
He inhaled deeply and nodded slowly, like he was just now beginning to comprehend that it was actually something that had happened. "Yeah....did you move?" He joked and you couldn't help but laugh with him.
"No, I uh, didn't move. It is true. I've been in love with you for awhile now, actually. Corinna just wanted to get that out there for me, I guess." You forced an awkward chuckle. This time his face did show a little more expression – a smile appeared across his lips like he was genuinely happy about this.
"It's a shame they didn't ask me the same question." He leaned against the doorframe, running a hand through his hair. Everything about him made you giddy.
"You mean, they should have asked if you were in love with yourself? David, everyone already knows you are."
He laughed and stood up from the doorframe then, inching towards you ever-so-slightly, "No, if I was in love with you. Because it would have said that I was."
Your breath hitched in your throat at that and before you could come up with a witty reply, you felt his lips crash against yours. You had pictured this so many times before but he was ten times better than what you had imagined, you smiled against his lips and pulled him closer, never wanting to leave this moment. The two of you were interrupted by a million 'awes' feeling the hallway and you quickly pulled back to see everyone holding their cameras towards you. You didn't even care; you wanted to shout it from the rooftops. The two of you were in love with each other, everyone in the world deserved to know.
