Summary: Peter's an orphan, making bullying at school an average ocurance. But he can't always get the medical attention he needs...

Peters POV

Today sucked. Not only was I yelled at by Mrs. Wood for not getting up early enough to feed myself, but it got worse right after I entered the school doors.

*SLAM* "What's up, Parker? Oh wait, you are, because I'm gonna leave you up here, until someone ever cares enough to help you." So he did. Stupid Flash Thompson left me hanging on my locker, by my backpack, until Mrs. Warren came running to my rescue 10 minutes after class had started. (If you didn't know, Mrs. Warren was Peter's teacher who told Flash off for not being the smartest because he was the fastest. Just thought you should know...) Just my Parker luck that I had her first period.

"Peter! Why we're you up there!?" She questioned me while helping me down. Only being in my sophomore year really helped with the fact that I was small. But I was still taller than Ned, for some reason...

"Oh, you know, just checking the view. Can see our the windows better from this height." I replied, hoping my sarcasm would lighten the mood a little.

"Peter, you have to stop getting yourself into trouble. Here. Give me your phone." She said as we were walking back to class. I hesitantly gave her my phone, unsure of what she would do. "Password?" She asked, so I typed it in.

"There you go," Mrs. Warren said as she handed my phone. "Now you have my number. Now you can call me whenever you decide you "need a better view". You could almost hear the quotation marks in her voice. " Now come on. Let's get to class."

-----------------------------------

I swung through the streets of Queens, looking for any trouble. Hopefully there wasn't much, but you never know with Queens. One minute everything is fine an dandy, the next there's 2 fires and a cat that needs saving. I checked my watch.

"Crap. I gotta be home in 2 minutes!" If you could even call it a home. Mrs. Wood would rather you go out and live on the streets than be in her orphanage. But I have to stay, as long as I can. Sydney needs me. Who's Sydney? Well, she the most well behaved little girl there; she looks up to me. Literally and figuratively.

I'm on my way home, and my spidy sense starts going haywire. I turn around, only to have something get sprayed in my eye. It burns! Well, yeah; pepper spray does that to ya.  It only got in one eye, though, so that's a plus. But it's my right eye, so, not so great. That's like, my favorite eye! I blink, my eyes watering, just to see the guy round a corner. Great.

-----------------------------------

My eyes are still watering, after half an hour. I got yelled at severely by Mrs. Wood for being late, even though I tried my best to explain. Age called me out for lying, and sent me to my bed without dinner, and a warning of no food at all the next day. But Sydney, bless her heart, brought me up some crackers. And no matter how much I refused, she kept insisting. And when she's serious about something, she gets scary. And for a 9 year old, that's saying something.

She gave me the crackers and left, saying she told Mrs. Wood she was going to the bathroom. I shooed her off, and ate my crackers. I fell asleep soon after, only to wake up realizing that I could only partially see out my right eye. Well that's not good...

Sydney came to check in me, and told me to get up before Mrs. Wood comes up again. It's normally best to heed her warnings too. First time I didn't, I was left outside in the rain, almost freezing. Let's just say Mrs. Wood needs to work on her punishments.

Another day of school. Yippee. It was only terrible because I couldn't see Flash coming after school was out. He came from my right side, big advantage on his part. Next thing I know I'm slammed against the lockers, air successfully being knocked out of my system.

"Nice to see you too, Flash. Maybe a little warning next time?" I rasped, still trying to breathe.

"Nice try, Parker, but I think I'll leave you the same spot as last time. Maybe this time, a little differently." He smirked.

"What..." I couldnt even finish my question before I'm turned around and shoved into my locker. We get it, I'm small! I was just expecting him to shut it, lock it, and leave, but he took the top of my backpack (you know the little loop on top?) and closed the locker on it.  Great. Well at least I have a great view of the inside of my locker. Maybe I should use that number.

*RING**RING**RING* "Hello?" "Hey, Mrs. Warren." "Peter, what did you get yourself into?" "A locker, apparently." "Which one??" "508." "Alright. Stay there."

"Yeah, like I'm going anywhere." I said to myself after hanging up. My eyes started to water agin, but I WASN'T crying, if that's what you were wondering. I quickly hear the clicking on heels on the tiles, and they stop at my locker.

"Combination?"

"2824." I replied, after which my locker was thrown open, pulling me with it. I was caught, thank goodness, but was met with a loud gasp. "What?!"

I looked up at Mrs. Warren, expecting an answer. I got no such thing. Instead I got the sound of a locker being shut, and being rushed out the front doors to Mrs. Warren's car.

"Mrs.Warren, what's going on??" I asked, worried what she was so frightened about. My stupid eyes start watering, so I wiped the back of my hand at them. What I saw was something that terrified me. Blood.
