Too White (An Albino Story)

There was a loud clanging outside of my house. My albino skin is very sensitive, so I only walked to the window to see what was going on. It was very hot outside, I could tell. I stuck my head out of the "window", or what really was, the hole in my wall. My pink eyes went wide and I ran outside, not caring about getting skin cancer.

I can't believe my eyes... There are four people standing near my house, around six people are clanging pots and pans together, and all around my house were at least fifteen people. But get this. They were ALL albinos!

"Are you Chizoba Eniola?" A tall boy asked. He was standing near my house looking straight at me.

"Y-Yes, I am..." I replied. How does he know my name? My name... I'm ashamed of my name. My first name, Chizoba, means "God protect us" in Igbo, and my last name, Eniola, means "person of wealth" in Yoruba. My last name is from my mother's side, since I had no father to take the name of.

While I was thinking about all of this the other albinos were surrounding me.

"You must come with us. A break out is about to begin!" I looked at my home. It seemed as if it was going to explode... Maybe just the sight of light makes me think that.

I nodded my head and got grabbed by the arm. A girl was pulling me and a small kid in a diagonal direction from my house. I have nothing there, so no need to go back in I guess.

When we were far into the savanna behind my house we stopped to take a rest. I looked at everyone. Hmm. Maybe I miscounted. There were about 30 now...

"So why are we running away?" I finally asked.

The tall boy, and everyone else, looked at me. "They are trying to... dissect us."
