Remy A. Taylor
It was the first weekend of Christmas break and my friends had dragged me out to yet another party.
My mom flipped out when she saw my tat and we had a small argument on why I would want to ruin my pretty face like I did. Oh well.
Dayvid could tell I was a little upset about it, but it didn't too much give a fuck how people felt lately. I was my own top priority since I couldn't be anyone else's. Shade to August.
Speaking of August he was at this party. I was trying my best to make sure he didn't see me. I had my hair down so maybe he wouldn't recognize me.
But he recognized Dayvid. I didn't think this plan through.
"Wassam, Dayvid. Remy hea' witchu?" He shook hands with my friend and I sunk further into the couch.
"You know she doesn't do parties." Dayvid lied easily for me.
The look of disappointment on Augusts face made me sad. Sad enough to sit up and he looked over at me.
"Re. Come hea' baybeh let me just talk to you." He pulled my arm and I let him just so he can hear what I yelled into his ear over the loud music.
"We don't have shit to talk about August. I was going to come back but after what you did, that's unforgivable."
He looked beyond confused, "What I did? What did I do baybeh?"
"You posted those pictures of me that we took on my birthday."
"No, I didn't mama. Why would I eva' do some shit like dat when you know how I feel about ya. I'on even like niggas lookin' at you fully clothed. Matta' fact I ain't know shit about dese pictures."
I looked at him and I knew he was telling the truth, "I hid those pictures at the house so who did you have at my house who could have posted them?"
"....Laila."
I looked at him like he was crazy, "Boy what the fuck you let the bitch in our house?"
"Man, Remy, just come home wit' me we can talk about it thea'." He pulled me to him and I almost melted into his body.
Until all the reasons possible of why that bitch was over his house flashed through my mind and I pushed him away.
He sucked his teeth before picking me up by my waist and throwing me over his shoulder.
Screaming would only draw even more attention than the hundreds of people staring at me as August carried my entire person, out of the party and to his car.
I was quiet as he buckled me into the passenger seat. I was really tired of being upset with everybody, I was tired of a lot of shit.
He kept attempting to talk to me on the way home but I ignored him. Instead, I was devising a plan in my head.
Once we were in the house, I tried going upstairs but August blocked the way.
"Talk ta me right na. Wassam, what you thinkin'?"
I sighed. The way he was looking down at me, I couldn't stay mad, "Why was she here?"
He rolled his eyes, "I was comin' to pick up somethin' fa Quincy and she got in my car, talkin' bout I could at least be nice ta my baby mama."
I laughed, "She's not your baby mother. Sean told me she slipped something in your drink when you went over there and he had to save your stupid ass."
I mushed his head and he grabbed my hand, "Aight I deserve that but don't get outta control. That bitch drugged me?"
"Yep. And I know a way we can get her back and figure out if she's really pregnant. But it's all about timing baby." I explained to him.
"I luh when you act crazy," He kissed my forehead and wrapped his arms around my waist, "And I luh you even mo'. I missed you, man."
"Take me upstairs and show me how much you missed me." I smirked, looking up at him.
"Oh really? You ain't said nothin' but a word baybeh."

I slowly got out of bed and began getting dressed. Today was the day that I would go up to the club and tell Miles that I quit and we couldn't be friends anymore.
Not as harshly but you get the picture.
August had been gone for almost a day now and I didn't really care anymore. He came back when he felt like it and I knew he was busy with work. He was working harder than ever to ensure if he was to ever get hurt again, God forbid, that we would be straight.
I parked outside of the club and spoke to a few familiar faces, including Natalia.
She looked close to tears as I hugged her, "I'm gonna miss working with you. You know I don't fuck with these other bitches in here."
"Girl you can always come see me outside of this damn club. We girls now."
I walked to the back where I knew Miles would be and he was sitting behind a desk looking like a damn fool. After what my dad had told the detective I couldn't see him the same. He was a snake.
"Come to work today, love? I'm glad you did, you don't return my calls or texts anymore I.."
He stopped talking once I held my hand up, "I came to quit. I no longer need this job, my man got his job back. We can no longer communicate after that 'drunk texting' stunt you pulled. I'm cutting off anybody who could jeopardize my relationship."
He looked stunned, "Well... I guess I understand that. I can't say I'm not saddened by your decision. I was really enjoying being around you, Remy. Can I at least get a goodbye hug?"
I sighed before holding my arms out and he stood, coming around to hug me.
Or so I thought.
His hand wrapped tightly around my neck and his other hand pulled my hair back, making me yell out.
"Remy if you knew the shit I knew you would watch what the fuck you say... I could end you, so you gon' respect me? You understand?"
I nodded quickly as a security guard barged into the room and he let me go, "Boss, August is here."
