"You're doing what?!!!" I yelled across the kitchen table at my parents. I could not believe what I had just heard. There was NO WAY I heard them right. "You can't get a divorce! What about me?!! Did you ever stop and think about how I would feel?!!" I screamed through my unshed tears and ran out of the room and refused to look back.
What a way to start off my 8th grade year! Me- Rainee Shay- your typical 13 year old, just had my life completely turned upside down. All because MY PARENTS decided they wanted a divorce! Well, fine!! If they can divorce each other- whatever! It's NOT MY CHOICE!!! I can't believe this is happening to me.
This was supposed to be the best day of my life. September 6th was going to go down in the history books for Rainee Marie Shay. I had all the classes I wanted. I had the BEST locker on the hall. I even had gym for 7th period!!! I wouldn't have to be worried about being all sweaty for the rest of the day. And today- today, HE looked at me and smiled. The cutest boy in school. Ryan Walker. He looks so much like Liam from 1D..OMG!! Today was the best day ever..
Then I came home. Mom had that look in her eyes. I thought maybe my brother had gotten in trouble at school or something. She didn't really want to talk. Once Dad came home and we had dinner- everything was quiet. Then they sent Baylor upstairs. I guess since he is only 8- he isn't quite old enough to have his world handed to him on a broken platter. I guess they thought I could handle it. Well- guess again.
Oh God! What am I going to do? This is so unfair! Why did they have to do this to me??!!!
