Lexi's POV

I swear, if Ethan shows up at my house I will seriously close the door in-

I'm suddenly cut off by the doorbell ringing.

Shit.

I quickly wipe away the few tears that had fallen and storm over to the door. I swing it open and glare at the person standing in front of me, already knowing who it is.

"Lexi, please-" I cut him off by slamming the door shut. I hear him groan before he knocks on the door.
"Baby please open up! I'm sorry!" He calls out.

"G-Go away Ethan!" I stutter a little as the tears return.

"I'm not leaving until we talk about this." He says sternly. "I won't lose you." I can hear the determination in his voice.

My eyebrows furrow and I quickly open the door. His eyes soften when he sees the tears rolling down my cheeks. "It's too late Ethan, you already did, and it's your own fault." I send him a glare and go to close the door again when he sticks his foot in the way.

I scoff. "Move."

He shakes his head and steps closer while pushing the door open. "Please let me explain."

"You already did!" I exclaim.

Ethan sighs and runs his hand through his messy hair. "I know this is my fault and I know you hate me right now, but I love you Lexi. I-I can't just let you go." His voice cracks.

I sigh. I know I shouldn't, but I feel bad for him. He actually looks really upset and guilty. That's why I make the dumb decision to slowly open the door wider so he can enter.

He sighs in relief and walks inside. When I close the door and turn around, i'm immediately wrapped into a hug. I stiffen and keep my arms to my side.

He sighs and pulls away, mumbling, "I guess I deserved that."

I begin walking upstairs to my room, with Ethan following behind. When we're both inside, I close the door behind me.

"I guess you can explain now." I say quietly, wrapping my arms around myself.

He clears his throat. "W-Well...some old friends, Jake, Ryan, and Zach, came back to town yesterday a-and we all decided to go to Ryan's place and drink. I didn't know there would be other people there. When we got there, we started drinking. After a while I got pretty fucked up...I had no idea what I was doing. I don't remember anything from that night except for those pictures." Ethan explains.

I stay quiet as I process his words.

He walks closer until he's right in front of me. "I swear I never meant to hurt you, I would never intentionally do that." He whispers, grabbing both of my hands and placing them on his shoulders, then wrapping his arms around my waist. "I love you so much Lexi. I-I messed up big time and I know I can't take it back, but I really hope you can forgive me eventually..." He searches my eyes for a reaction but I don't give him one. "Please don't leave me."

I let out a shaky breath and reluctantly pull my hands away from his. "I-I think..." He looks disappointed when I pull away. "I think we should take a break E." I whisper.

His hopeful expression falls and he quickly shakes his head. "No baby, please-"

I cut him off. "I need time Ethan."

I walk over to my door and open it, feeling the tears flowing down my cheeks. "C-Can you go now, please?" I mumble as a few tears fall.

He gulps and reluctantly nods his head, though it's obvious he doesn't want to.

As he walks out, he stops in front of me and gently grips each side of my face. He leans down and kisses my forehead. "I love you, please remember that."

And then he's gone.
And then I cry myself to sleep.
