"He's coming on Monday," Ali said in answer to her sister Andrea's question, "so I'm leaving before then-and I think it'll be better if I stay away the whole time he's here." Ali ran her hand over her face.

"If someone doesn't meet him, he'll probably wander down an alley and might be lost, Ali!" Andrea said. "Would you spend half your life living in guilt? Try to show him some kindness, dear".

"Kindness?" Ali half-shouted, suppressing her disbelief. "This man is a compulsive liar. A heartless! And as you know he's going here at my dad's place." My place, she thought.

"It's not a big thing, and you know it," her sister said calmly.

"Oh, right. I can't very well forgot all the malicious things, now can I? First of all, his friend tried to ditch Perry's dick in front of his fiance. And of course there's him kissing my employee inside her cubicle that is located inside my building--"

"It's her girlfriend. And for pete's sake Alisson, that was one year ago already!

  "One and a half."

  "What?"

"It's one and a half year."

"Right." Sighing, Ali sat down on the couch. Yes, it's been that long but the memory's still fresh like it happened yesterday.

Ali  closed her eyes for a moment. Fighting with her sister over that conniving artist is a waste of time. After her dad was gone on his six months trip in Canada with her mom, he had left a ridiculous idea.
T

he young man, Bryan Maxwell, who was unfortunately a friend of him and an architect had to stay in the island and design the new resort to be built at the back portion of the island.

At first, Alex had fought over her father's idea. "There's a lot more better architect than that man, dad!"

"He has a name sweetheart. Bryan Maxwell, he had said. Kenneth stood with his hands clasped behind his back and looked out the window. The traffic was already increasing and cars was bumper to bumper even on their quiet lane. "You've made your point. But he was your Uncle Arnold's son. And I owes him a lot, and you knew it. Helping Bryan will just mean a little compare to what his dad did for us."

Arnold Smith Maxwell was dad's business partner and his best buddy.
He helped my dad surpass all his business rivals. Arnold, was a great great man. And he fathered Bryan.

"I understand your point dad,but Bryan wasn't that good enough. I don't think he can handle such things." She said hoping to change her father's decision.

"Let's give him a chance and after six months we'll know what happened," Kenneth said softly.

It was annoying to Ali that she was angry and the old man was so calm. But she knew how to even out the playing field. "So tell me dad, what if he failed?"

"We're not there yet. Stop thinking about the 'morrow," her dad said.

"But dad-"

"No buts Alisson!" Her father's handsome face immediately changed to stormy. His shoulders went even farther back, his chest out. "I've made up my mind!" he bellowed, a sound that had frightened shiploads of investors. But Ali had been hearing it all her life and was unperturbed. "Bryan will stay at the resort and you'll treat him with kindness."

So that was what her sister is also saying, show him some kindness.

"Dad had told you the same as what I'm saying, right? Give him a chance. Don't judge him by his flaws. I know you'll get along very well," her sister snapped. "After all, we owe his father."

"Not that you have any reasons to know this, but my wedding will be in four months and I have to get back in New Jersey to fix things out," Ali gave a sigh of exasperation. "Besides, Troy will be needing my help."

"Yes, I do know," Andrea said, her voice showing her frustration. "But we all know that dad would not like your idea of marrying him."

"I love him, Dre. I'm sure dad would learn to accept Troy as a family," Ali stood where she was by the window and clasped her arms unto her chest. "I'll leave with the chopper tomorrow morning, and might be back later this June."

"Ali,  I know your old enough to know what's right. And remember, I'll always support you." Andrea said and there were tears in her eyes. "I love you."

"I know," she said and hugged her sister. "I love you more, dre."

Ali turned back to smile at her sister. "I know dad would be proud of me. And he'll understand my decision."

Andrea smiled sheepishly.
