"You're a great chef, you know?" Wes told me as he shoved more pasta into his mouth. I laughed at him as I began cleaning off the table. "You're crazy, you know?" He smirked and finished off his plate. After cleaning up he went into the living room and I heard the tv turn on. I peaked in, "I'm walking to the gas station real quick." He nodded his head, "Be careful." "When am I not?" I said as I walked out the door.
"Emersyn!" cheered the peppy blonde behind the register. I smiled at her, "Hey Taylor, do you have any of that new energy drink? With the cat on it?" She pointed to a fridge by the front of the gas staion. I grabbed on and paid for it. "How's Ryan?" I said with a smirk. She rolled her eyes, "He's good. Guys make life much more interesting. How's the boy?" She gave me a wink. "There is no boy, as you are completely aware. I was slightly irritated. I felt my phone buzz, she glaced at the screen. "Speak of the devil, and he shall appear." I ignored her comment and said goodbye.
"What's up?" I answered the phone. I hear the voice breathe a sigh of relief. "Emersyn! You need to hurry home. There's a storm coming." I laughed, "Yes Daddy." "I'm serious... It's pretty nasty. Don't want you walking home with it. Actually, I'll come get you. Stay at the gas station. Don't move." I rolled my eyes, "Got it. Not moving!" I hung up and began walking towards my apartment. I shared an apartment with Wes, but we aren't dating or anything. I was in a terrible house fire 3 years ago, the house collapsed, giving me a concussion, or so I'm told. I remember nothing about my life before the accident, we tried really hard to help me regain my memory. It never worked.
My parents and older brother were killed in it, and everything we owned was burned to the ground. My life consists of waking up in the hospital, with Wes to explain it all. He's stayed with me ever since, helped me deal... well, with life. He'd always been my best friend before the accident, I know that at least. He's very overprotective though, like looking after me is his job or something.
I saw a black Mustang like Wes' pull over. I crossed the street to it. Wes' family was rich, but the all lived overseas. It's really odd in my opinion. They just send him money by the millions!
I climbed into the passenger seat. "You know, I'm capable of walking 5 blocks by my-" I screamed. "I'm so sorry! I thought this was my friend's car!" My cheeks were burning by now. I tried getting out, but the door was locked. I turned to the mysterious guy in the driver's seat. It was dark, so I only saw his bulky build and bald head. "Capturing you was a lot easier than I thought it'd be. I thought The King had better protection on you than this!" He said in a manly voice. The king? I was about to scream when a hand wrapped around my mouth from behind me. A rag was held over my mouth and nose. I began kicking around as hard as I could, knowing I'd be out in a matter of seconds. I felt the car suddenly accelerate as I slipped away.
