Chapter one- The big game
"Mom where is my mascara!?" I said
my mother responded "in your makeup closet darling."
Of course I was panicking over where i put my most favorite among favorite mascara was, it made me look amazing! I just had gotten it in the new edition of Teen Vogue last month for my 14th birthday. I put on the mascara and some glitter eye shadow and went downstairs to wait for Amanda to pick me up to go to the big game. Tonight the boys were playing the stallions a big rival from way back in the day. My boyfriend Matt was the quarterback for the patriots and was pretty dang good if I do say so myself. I was very eager to go watch the game because Matt was taking me to a night club after where our one year anniversary would be celebrated.
Chapter two- The halftime glitz
The game was going pretty well, our boys were up by a touchdown in the 3rd quarter. Amanda and I were having a blast watching our boyfriends kick some Stallion butt. By the fourth quarter it was tied at 27, we needed at least another touchdown to take the lead and stick with it till the time was out. Matt had gotten the ball perfectly for passing position, then he crushed a stallion and sprinted past them one by one till he was almost to the end zone. I was screaming at the top of my lungs "Come on Matt, run!" Just before he was in the zone, a Stallion caught up to him and tackled him right at the touchdown zone. The crowd was silent, waiting for the ref to call him in or out of the bounds. He finally threw his hands up and said " TOUCHDOWN!" The whole school was cheering at the top of their lungs for Matt. After the call I noticed something was wrong with Matt but I couldn't tell what it was.
Chapter 3- The after show
After the game I ran up to Matt when he was out of his uniform and equipment. I congratulated him with a hug and he tensed up like he was in a lot of pain. I finally asked him "Baby what is hurting you?" He explained to me what had happened before the game "Babe before the game I was pushed down the stairs by some teamates who thought it was funny." I asked him " Babe why didn't you tell anyone about this?" He responded " They said if I told anyone they would just hurt my reputation." I was furious! How could his teammates be so cruel? Maybe they are jealous of his talent? I knew I had to go talk to these boys on my own and give them a piece of my mind. Nobody hurts my boyfriend.
Chapter 4- Two weeks later
I knew I had to talk to the boys that hurt Matt but I wasn't sure when to do it. I found out who they were by begging Matt to tell me. I had the perfect idea, I would go up to them and schedule a so called " date" then give them a piece of my mind.
So the date came quickly and they chose to met behind the school during lunch. I told Matt I had to go to the bathroom to freshen up for next period and he told me to hurry so we wouldn't be late to class. I arrived behind the school and told them off. " Why did you hurt Matt? Were you jealous of his talent? Angry? What was it? Spill." They didn't answer, all they did was grab me and shoved me against the wall. Their words were " We are not afraid of you, and now that you know we pushed him we have no choice but to hurt you like we did to your boyfriend, even if you are a girl." I was so scared at that moment. They shoved me on the ground and pounded me with punches, kicks, and slaps. I couldn't defend myself, they had me pinned down and were doing a good job doing a brutal beating. They finally were done and just left me on the concrete crying, bleeding, and broken. My phone was in my sports bra and I had just enough strength to reach for it and text Matt. I texted "Help me i'm behind the school."
Chapter 5- behind the school
When Matt saw me he was worried. He asked " Taylor who did this to you?" I couldn't respond for i was in to much pain. He was kneeling next to be examming every part of me. He called 911 and said " my girlfriend just got beatend by someone or multiple people she can barely respond to me!" By the time the ambulance got there Matt had ripped off my shirt and was making sure i was breathing. In the ambulance i got put on oxygen till i got to the hospital. A doctor was there examming me and tried communicating with me but my mind was telling me to stop.
Chapter 6- the hospital
I went into a huge machine and was in there for quite some time. When i was done i was all stiched up and had many bandages on me. I got rolled in to a room where Matt was and Amanda. They looked very worried. They asked in panic "what's wrong with her?" Will she be ok?" the doctor told them "I don't know anything for sure yet but she will survive." I said "Matt" very quietly and he turned around so quickly i thought he was going to slip. He came over to me and said " whats wrong babe?!" i responded very softly " my head hurts" Matt looked at the doctor then at me again. " yes i know baby i am sure you hurt a lot, but you know what i'll be here 24/7 with you." The doctor showed the x-rays to Amanda and Matt. " it looks like she has a concusion and some very badly brused ribs." the doctor said. " does it require surgery?" matt asked. " no luckily whoever hit her there just missed the most fragile part, so she will be alright in the end." Matt was relieved and so was Amanda.
chapter 7- recovery
It had been two days being in the hospital bed. I was on very strict bed rest and some medications. Matt was asleep when i woke up and i really wanted to talk to him, so i said his name a couple of times and he woke up. "yes baby, are you ok?" i nodded a no and started crying. He came and sat down on the bed next to me and comforted me by stroking my hair and wiping my tears away. I got really cold and started chivering. Matt ran over and got some blankets and wrapped them on my injured body. I was still cold so he gave me his sweatshirt too. He felt my forehead and said i was warm and he was worried. He ran to a nurse and she told him its alright she probably caught a bug with her new meds. Matt ran over to my pale white face with tears running down and layed down next to me and craddled me into his arms.
Chapter 8- coming home
Today was when i could go home. I was still sick and weak but i was glad to get out of that boring white room. My parents brought me home along with Matt in the back with me. I got home and Matt carried me up to my bedroom where he layed me down and sat down next to me and said " baby are you cold?" i said yes and he gave me his sweatshirt again and put blankets on me. I could talk now so while i was on bedrest we would watch tv together and talk about things i never knew we would talk about.
Chapter 9- back to school for taylor
It was my first day back i already had missed 2 weeks of school and was really nervous. I had to be careful of my ribs because they were still brused. Matt was by my side all day watching out for me and asking how i was doing. I was glad to have a boyfriend like him, without him i wouldn't be able to walk the halls alone and not be bullied. Once i was healed for good i finished the school year strong, the boys that beat me up were explled and sent to juvy. I finsihed with a 3.9 GPA to end school and was very proud of it.
chapter 10- a couple years later
Once i graduated college at UMD with Matt (yes we were still together) he took me to dinner to celebrate our anniversery. Right when we were done eating he put his napkin on the table walked over to me and got down on one knee. I couldn't believe this was happening! He asked the magic four words " will you marry me?" In a heartbeat i said yes! That is my love story what's yours?
