The fog rolled into the dim valley below, covering the tops of the buildings in a midnight haze. The clock stroke half ten signalling the start of Festiva, the ancient ceremony to see who had the ability to talk to the souls that had been stuck in limbo. Lukas sighed as he was sat on the end of his bed, reading a book written by one of the few Verbosus Animarum on the different types of souls. There were eight types: the Shaman, the Server, the Warrior, the Artisan, the Sage, the Scholar, the Priest and the King. The Verbosus Animarum were the final select few who were allowed to legally talk to souls, they each had a different type that they could speak to.

Lukas was one of the only two people who could talk to the king souls, though he hadn't taken the test yet to see if he could apply to be a Verbosus Animarum; he couldn't be caught talking to them until he passed the test. He was nervous about the next morning and how he'd do on the examination of his skills, he was worried about embarrassing himself in front of the Verbosus Animarum. Embarrassing yourself in front of them was one of the worst things anyone could do, you got yourself the name of 'Contra animas embarraser' or 'embarraser in front of souls' for life.
