It was cold, dark and she was alone. The first three signs that something was amiss. Ahsoka had been in the Jedi Temple before she woke up here and in the Temple she never felt alone. The thousands of fleeting thoughts alongside hers ensured that she always felt a presence other than her own.
"Ahsoka..."
The togruta turned hard enough to make her own head spin. Her name had echoed so clearly in her ears but there was no one in sight. In fact there was nothing in sight. No Jedi Temple, no Coruscant...there was just nothing.
Another sign.
She had heard the voice before although she didn't truly know where. Every time this disembodied voice called to her it was the same. Echoey, distorted and booming. At times it even felt more like an order, demanding to her to awaken and do its bidding.
"Ahsoka..."
She knew this voice like a distant memory looking in the back of her mind. And the more this mysterious voice called out to her the more familiar it felt. But what did it mean? Master Yoda said there was always a meaning behind dreams. So what could this one mean?
"Ahsoka!"
This time when she turned to investigate there was someone staring back at her. A woman of astounding beauty and grace with flowing green hair and a matching pair of eyes. Trying to find words to describe her was difficult because she was so...breathtaking. Adorned an extravagant headpiece and white robes trimmed with gold the woman truly had an otherworldly appearance. She nearly vibrate with light, just watching her was like trying to watch a burning star. Though her appearance was undeniably wondrous the mystery woman also looked stern and even angry, her plum colored lips drawn back in a sneer.
"He will destroy you..." She warned, green eyes glowing dimly in the darkness. "He will destroy everything you have ever known."
Ahsoka shook her head. "I don't understand." She mumbled, obviously confused. "He? Who is he?"
Instead of answering her question, the woman took a step back and a pair of wings sprout from her back. They shimmered a lovely golden, mirroring her fine robes.
"You must stop him! You must sacrifice the one you hold so dear...or all will be LOST!"
Her very voice shook the ground as she yelled that last word. With one powerful thrust of both wings she sent Ahsoka flying backwards and once she was falling she found herself stuck. There was no recovering from it, no landing to stick or even miss.
"But I don't understand!" Ahsoka called, not quite sure where or who she was talking to.
"Do not lose everything for him." The woman cautioned, her voice suddenly right in Ahsoka's ear. "Destroy him or you will lose everything."
.........
With a strangled and startled gasp Ahsoka bolted upright in her bed, body jerking as she coughed and gasped. Slowly she searched the room, familiarizing herself with her surroundings until it registered.
None of it really happened. She was only dreaming. There was no mysterious glowing woman with gigantic wings. No confusing whispers of caution. This was reality. Her name was Ahsoka Tano. She was a Commander in the Grand Army of the Republic. She was in her personal rooms inside of the Jedi Temple, enjoying her leave while her masters continued fighting.
"Now, that was a really weird dream." She observed aloud, laying back down on her side.
And she didn't have the faintest idea of what it meant.
Blue eyes stared up at the ceiling of her room. "Perhaps, I should go see Master Yoda." The togruta concluded, snuggling deeper into her pillow as the urge to sleep returned suddenly and with a vengeance.
"Or maybe I'll just go..." her sentence was interrupted by a long and steady yawn, one powerful enough to make her eyes water. "Back to sleep."
