Chapter 3

   You sit on the couch next to Roman. The two of you are watching the live action Beauty and the Beast for the fifteenth time. "Roman, why are we watching the movie again?" You ask as he gets up to restart the movie. He turns to you, looking betrayed. You sigh and close your eyes. "Nevermind, Roman..." You mumble.
   "Hey," You hear someone say. Roman screams. You open your eyes and see Virgil sitting on the stairs.
   "Hi, Virgil!" You smile. He doesn't acknowledge your greeting. Or, you don't see the slight smile he now has on his face.
   "Are you two watching the movie again?" Virgil asks. Roman doesn't respond to Virgil so he looks to you. You nod and sigh again. Roman sits down on the couch again. When the movie starts you start a conversation with Virgil. You eventually get up and join Virgil on the stairs to continue your conversation quietly.
   "Hey, I think there's some leftover pizza in the fridge. You want some?" You ask. Virgil nods, and you get up.
   "Hey," Virgil stops you before you step off the last step, "don't warm mine up."

   You sit in your room doodling on a piece of lined paper when you hear everyone talking. You leave your room and step down a stair or two. You see that they're filming something. You sit on the top of the stairs. Everyone (including you) suddenly gets transported to a place that was really bright. And it had a ton of stuff from Thomas's past. Is this Patton's room? You think, stepping down the stairs behind Virgil quietly. You trip over a binder and fall onto the pile of notebooks. It doesn't hurt. How did Thomas transport me to the mindscape...?
   "(Y/N)?" Thomas asks. You sit up slightly and wave to everyone. Virgil turns around and rolls his eyes. "How did you get into my mind?" You shrug.
   "I was thinking the same thing..." You reply. Everyone stops talking about it for the time being.
Soon, everything starts to go downhill. Virgil's breathing isn't normal, and he's acting the same way he did back when you all played the horror game. Before you can say anything, Logan turns to Virgil.
   "Virgil, are you okay?" He asks. You don't hear anything after that. Everything starts spinning and you pass out. When you wake up you hear Logan's voice.

   "Logan? What happened?" You ask, seeing him sitting on the couch next to your legs. You have your head on a pillow and you're covered with a blanket. You make a mental note to thank Logan later.
   "You fainted because you were in Thomas's mindscape for too long. I don't exactly know how you made it into Patton's room, but I believe it has something to do with the fact that you are one of the few people that can see and make contact with us." Logan explains.
   "And I can do that because...?" You try to get him to explain more but he doesn't. You look over at the staircase. Your eyes widen. "Logan, is Virgil okay?" You ask, panicking.
   "I'm not sure. I left as soon as I realized that Thomas was not going to listen to me." Logan says. "I found you lying on the floor by the stairs when I came back here."
   "He... He was having a panic attack." You mumble. "Logan, why didn't you try to help him! I would have been fine!" You yell.
   "I am aware he was having a panic attack. But I would not have been able to help him. If you have forgotten, I'm not the best with emotions." Logan replies. He has no emotion in his voice. You glare at him, trying to hide the tears that are starting to collect in your eyes.
   "Whatever..." You shake your head, hoping that the tears would go away. They don't. You put your hands over your eyes and start to cry. You hear everyone's voices and look up. "Virgil!" You jump up from the couch and run over to Virgil. You wrap your arms around him and start to cry again.
   "Aww, that's cute!" Patton gushes from the side of the room. Virgil's face flushes pink, but no one really seems to notice except for Thomas.   He smiles slightly at the scene in front of him.
